Drake seemingly threw shade at his ex-girlfriend, legendary tennis player Serena Williams. The rapper took to Instagram on Monday, November 17, to share a photo with fellow artist Sexyy Red. However, it was his seemingly pointed caption that had fans confused. The pair posed for a string of tennis-themed photos, which the Canadian rapper captioned: "I said tennis lesson she said where's the bracelet or the necklace." As reported by the Daily Mail, Drake also left a like under a user's comment that read: "Serena Williams upgrade [fire emojis]." Drake and Serena Williams's beef explored: View this post on Instagram Instagram PostDrake and Serena Williams dated from 2011 to 2015. In the years since then, they have been throwing subtle shade at each other publicly. Most notably, the latter made a cameo appearance during Kendrick Lamar's headlining set at this year's Super Bowl. At the time, she showed up and began dancing to Lamar's Drake diss track Not Like Us. She was seen c-walking on stage, videos of which sent the internet into a frenzy. However, she later claimed that her appearance had nothing to do with her ex. During a TIME Magazine cover story, she said: “I would never do that. And that was sad, that anyone would ever think that. I respect how they could. Obviously, I can see how someone would think that. But absolutely not. I have never had negative feelings towards him. We’ve known him for so many years.” Serena Williams said that she was only there out of respect for Kendrick Lamar: “We’ve been trying to do something together for ages,” she noted. “I’m not Taylor Swift, let’s be honest. I would have a better chance to be quarterback at the Super Bowl than dance.” However, the 23-time Grand Slam winner famously threw shade at her ex just last year, when she hosted the ESPYS. At the time, she said on stage: "If I've learned anything this year, it's that none of us, not a single one of us, not even me, should ever pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar. He will make your hometown not like you. The next time Drake sits courtside at a Raptors game, they're gonna Forrest Gump him, 'seat's taken!'" As for Drake, he shot back when he took to Instagram to share a photo of himself alongside her former agent, Jill Smoller. The photo was reportedly taken in 2015, when he attended Wimbledon to support his then-girlfriend during her match. While he chose not to caption the image, fans were quick to presume it was a dig at Williams. Stay tuned to SoapCentral for more.
