Liam Neeson and Helen Mirren shared a relationship that lasted from 1980 to 1985, and although decades have passed, it’s clear the affection between them hasn’t faded. The two reunited on The Graham Norton Show, where they warmly reflected on their past romance.

“We didn’t date, we lived together for four years – we were a serious item for a while,” Mirren shared. “Lucky me!”

According to People, their relationship began after they met on the set of Excalibur, the 1981 fantasy film in which they both starred.

For Liam Neeson, the connection was immediate.

“I remember being on the set and standing with Ciarán Hinds as Helen walked towards us dressed in her full Morgana Le Fey costume and we both went, ‘Oh f—, I was smitten. I think Ciarán was too but I was very smitten!” he recalled.

Mirren, surprised by the revelation, responded,

“I never knew that. You’ve never told me that before – it’s amazing.”

Liam Neeson also remembered a small, telling moment from their time on set.

“Before I met her and we worked together, I had read somewhere that if she fancied a guy she would imitate his walk behind his back and I turned around one day and she was doing that to me,” he shared.

Since then, the actor and Anderson, began working together on The Naked Gun, and according to a source, a bond gradually formed.

“It’s sincere, and it’s clear they’re smitten with each other,” the source shared.

“With Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her. She's just terrific to work with, I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film.” Neeson said.
