Los Angeles Lakers basketball player Deandre Ayton has made headlines after a social media model made a few accusations, though not directly against the player.

The model, whose Instagram handle is @caribbeancurlss, took to her stories and wrote that Ayton’s security team abandoned her, alleging that this happened after she refused to accede to their s*xual advances. Tagging the NBA player, she wrote:

“@deandreayton security left me outside in the middle of nowhere in Turks of caicos bc I won't have have s*x with him.”

However, it is noteworthy that the model did not accuse Ayton of leaving her stranded during the Turks & Caicos trip. In a subsequent Instagram story, she clarified that her phone got broken and she didn’t get the chance to explain what happened. The model also wrote:

“Deandre has nothing to do with what happened between his security/driver and I.”

In another Instagram story, where she posted a screenshot of a note, the model said people were spreading lies and not understanding what happened. She explained that she paid for her flight with her friends and wasn’t flown out by anyone.

They went to a party, and the people she was with were also part of Deandre Ayton’s group. She made it clear that Deandre didn’t do anything wrong.

The model clarified that Deandre Ayton was not present when the incident happened

The model clarified in the post that the incident concerned a local security team. She wrote that when her friends left her drunk, Deandre Ayton told his driver and security to help her out.

However, during the ride, the security person made her uncomfortable, and when she said no, they left her alone on a dark street while she was still drunk. She also wrote:

“The post was done out of me being in fear for my life, in case anything happened to me ppl will know it's the security that was last seen with me. Deandre had nothing to do with this, it was HIS SECURITY/DRIVER. DEANDRE WAS NOT PRESENT AT ANY GIVEN TIME. This act was done by the local hired security/driver from the island!!!”

A TikTok user tried to clarify the situation about the model and the interaction with the security team. She reshared the post and wrote:

“THANK YOU finally someone with comprehension skill. People want to run with these narratives so bad.”

What did Deandre Ayton say about joining the Lakers?

The Los Angeles Lakers recently made a contract with Deandre Ayton. According to the NBA, the team’s manager, Rob Pelinka, said the team wanted to get a strong player for the center position this offseason, and they felt Deandre was the perfect choice.

Pelinka believed Deandre’s height, speed, and skills would help the team score and defend better near the basket. He also thought Deandre Ayton’s experience playing in the NBA Finals made him a great fit for the Lakers' goal of winning a championship.

During a press conference, Deandre Ayton was asked to reflect on his decision to join the Lakers. He said:

“It wasn't tough, you know, making this decision but you know just taking my time and embracing, you know, being a free agent and just learning how this thing works properly and, you know, the teams that me and my agents evaluated during that time span I felt that Lakers was the best fit.”

A reporter asked Deandre Ayton how playing with stars like Luka and LeBron could help his game. Deandre said both players were great at passing and making their teammates better. He felt they helped others shine on the court and said he was excited to finally get a chance to play with players like them.
