Mariah Carey and Diddy, longtime friends and collaborators, also share a connection through the former's signing to the latter's now-disgraced label, Bad Boy Records, when Carey's career was starting. Scroll down to know all about her connection to Diddy's case.

Mariah Carey and Diddy's longtime friendship explored as the songstress insists the latter "wasn't really that involved" in their track, Honey:

As reported by Fox News, Mariah Carey's name was dropped during an explosive testimony in the third week of the 55-year-old music producer's trial, which kicked off on May 12.

The Bad Boy Records founder witnessed another testimony from yet another one of his alleged victims, "Mia," as well as his former executive assistant, Capricorn Clark, and celebrity stylist, Deonte Nash.

Clark was the one to name-drop Carey, as well as Whitney Houston, while on the stand. She said she thought of Cassie as talented, but nothing more than a studio artist.

"Why do you think she just had talent as opposed to being very talented?" Diddy's lawyer asked her, to which she responded: "Um, talented to me is Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey. Very talented is that level of performer, entertainer. Cassie was more of a studio artist."

As for what she thinks a studio artist is, she said:

"[Someone who is] a little bit more comfortable in the vocal booth to have a little bit of things equalized for you and, you know, engineered properly. Less of a live performer."

Just last year, the songstress was questioned about her song, Honey, which she made in collaboration with Diddy, and if the allegations that have since surfaced about him have tainted that experience. She told the Los Angeles Times:

"That's hard not to happen when stuff goes on and you hear somebody's voice on a record. You're like, hmmm. It's weird, you know?" She added, "But honestly, Honey was more of a representation of me than anybody else, and I know that. The other people that were involved, or maybe the other person that we're talking about, wasn't really that involved."

Honey debuted as part of Mariah Carey's landmark album, Butterfly, and marked her third song to ever debut at the dominating position. Diddy is credited in the song twice, in the music section, and for serving as its producer. The track also got its own remix with the mogul, titled Honey (Bad Boy Remix), the music video of which has the rapper in it.

Over the years, Mariah Carey has been spotted with Diddy many a time, with the two often showing up for star-studded events together. In 2018, Diddy voiced his support for his friend when she was going through turmoil with her health and personal life.
