During his October 12 performance at the Big Fresno Fair in California, R&B singer Mario stopped between his set to ask a man with a camera to get off the stage. According to a viral clip that went viral on social media, the singer can be seen gesturing to a cameraman and saying:

"Ayo, you gotta get the f**k off the stage, dawg. Get him off the stage....Yo, get the f**k off the stage n**ga, get the f**k off the stage."

Soon, security came in to escort the man away. After netizens took to social media to take offense at Mario's reaction, the singer issued a social media statement apologizing for his actions and stating that people were "misinformed" about the situation.

'I'll take accountability," R&B singer Mario apologizes to cameraman

Mario, while addressing the incident that took place during his October 12 Big Fresno Fair, explained his side of the story and apologized to the cameraman.

"Multiple times while seeing the cameraman through my peripheral, I got distracted and one time almost tripped over a speaker trying to make sure I'm not walking in the same direction as him. He was too far down stage unless he's with you and shooting you that close for a reason. It can really throw you off. In the midst of all of that while walking back stage right, I got frusttrated and that's when I said, "Yo you gotta get the f*** off the stage."

While apologizing to the cameraman, Mario said,

"I'll take accountability for being 0 to 100 type of person and this is why I stay out of the way most of the time lol. I never want one recorded incident to wipe away the work I've done as a person to stay out of y'all mouthes and the blogs!!"

And added,

"To the camera man, you got caught in the cross fire, my boi and I'm sorry. U had to experience that! It was nothing personal, you are welcomed to come and shoot me on tour it will be 'Nothing but Us' tour and we can do it the right way!"

Mario's statement comes a month before he's scheduled to kick off his North American leg of the Nothing But Us tour to celebrate the release of his single. The tour will begin on November 13 at The National in Richmond, VA, and will conclude on December 9 at El Ray Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.
