Miley Cyrus and Naomi Campbell have been accused of ignoring one of their fans at a recent album signing event in London.
The incident occurred during Cyrus's vinyl signing at Rough Trade East on Sunday. In clips that are now drawing the ire of the internet, the Something Beautiful star and the supermodel can be seen conversing intently as a fan seemingly waits to catch their attention, clutching a vinyl for a signature. However, they did turn to the fan when she asked for a photograph.
The event was a part of Miley Cyrus's promotional tour for her latest album, which came out in May, and the British supermodel, 55, was in attendance as she is featured on the funk-pop track, Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved.
Shortly after the event, the former Disney child star took to her Instagram to share a string of photos of her and Campbell amid a buzzing record store. In the caption, she gushed over her collaborator and said she "adored meeting" all of their fans who came.
'Thank you for celebrating the Every Girl You've Ever Loved vinyl release day with me,' she told Campbell in her caption. 'Laughing with you is my favorite. I'll miss you until we reunite. Love you forever,' she added.
She then thanked her fans before telling those who couldn't make it to grab a vinyl record soon. However, her comments section was riddled with inflammatory remarks, most of which demanded an apology for Miley Cyrus and Naomi Campbell's "rude" behavior. Scroll down to see how the internet is reacting.
Fans slam Miley Cyrus and Naomi Campbell for their behavior with a fan, some call them "horrible role models"
Here's what one fan penned on X:
"What horrible role models"
However, a few did defend the two stars:
"They just want to have fun, and people are annoying them," someone quipped.
"Disrespectful, I didn't expect that from Naomi especially, you're there primarily to meet your supporters not to gist. Pathetic," another opined.
"It is rude.. but they see 100s of not 1000s of people. To try and sit there and talk to each and every one of them is a bit much. Not trying to defend their actions or anything.. just sayin..," one more defended.
"And this is why I could never go to one of these events," a fourth user chimed in.
The comments didn't end there, here's how the rest of X is reacting:
"I'm sure they didn't intend to but... this is just rude. If you can't give your attention to fans, then don't agree to autograph sessions where pictures are also offered," someone else opined.
"At least Miley said whats up lmao," another user noted.
"No character and no respect for anyone else. Do these people really deserve your money for their products?" yet another questioned.
The prevailing sentiment online seems to point toward Miley Cyrus being rude to the fan, with many suggesting that their audiences avoid such events altogether henceforth.
Miley Cyrus gets heckled at her own promotional event as fans demand that she start singing
The Hannah Montana alum was heckled at a Q&A session that took place at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on June 6, while promoting her musical film of the same name as her latest album. In clips circulating online, the songstress could be seen answering a question when she was interrupted by a fan:
“We thought this was a concert. We paid $800.” Someone else chimed in, “Are you actually going to sing? Miley, sing The Climb!”
Miley Cyrus obliged as she began singing her 2009 hit, though she abruptly halted to ask her fans to sing along. Shortly after, she took to her social media account to thank her fans for coming anyway:
“Seeing Something Beautiful on the big screen at @tribeca @beacontheatre surrounded by the screams of the audience, was so worth every bit of effort lovingly laboured into this visual album,” she penned alongside a string of snapshots from the screening. “Tonight was emotional, deep, fun & fabulous. All my favourite things, but YOU the crowd were my absolute favourite of all. I love you.”
As of this writing, neither Miley Cyrus nor Naomi Campbell has reacted to the situation or put out a statement. In the meantime, stay tuned to SoapCentral for more.
