Former X Factor star, Olly Murs during his sold out show in Glasgow on May 22, performed for only 20 minutes before walking off the stage.

Murs announced, "My voice has gone" after performing six songs at the Hydro, and went on to give an explanation to the audience that paid almost £57.55 for the tickets.

"This has never happened to me before but you can hear my voice is going. I want to give you the concert you deserve so I can't go on. I'm going to come back, but I need to go now."

His audience was then asked to leave the venue, after Murs couldn't continue his performance. The singer is next scheduled to play on May 23, at the AO Arena in Manchester. Murs and his team have not given an explanation or if they would be cancelling any future shows owing to his health conditions.

"I've never done this in 15 years" - says Olly Murs

After walking off the stage after performing 6 songs in 20 minutes at his May 22 Glasgow show, Olly Murs took to his Instagram stories to apologise to his fans saying,

"Glasgow I'm so sorry I had to walk off and cancel the show. I've never done this in 15 years. Most of the time as singers we can kind of get through it if our voice isn't 100% and I walked out tonight thinking my voice is great. I felt a little bit rundown but I didn't think I couldn't do the show or I wouldn't have come out there otherwise."

He went on to add,

"So to walk off after six songs, as I said I'm so sorry...as you can probably hear in my voice, it sounded rubbish, and it's unfair for you guys that have spent all that money to come and see me, you deserve the best show, and me being at my best."

In a second update, Olly Murs mentioned that he was seeing a doctor on May 22 and would let his fans know if his upcoming scheduled shows including, Manchester, Marston Green, and London, are still on.

This isn't the first time Murs has cancelled a show due to his throat problem. In February, 2025, Murs cancelled a Dubai show hours before taking the stage due to a throat infection.

Last year, Murs also cancelled another gig supporting pop band, Take That after a flight delay, and a local pub singer had to replace him.
