Pete Hegseth has not joined the "Great Jeans" trend post-Sydney Sweeney American eagle scandal.
However, it's the Department of Defense which shared an image of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's image, where he can be seen wearing a blue blazer coupled with jeans. The caption tagged the Defense Secretary's X account and said:
"@secdef has great jeans."
The post comes at a time when MAGA has been vocally defending Sydney after learning that she has been registered as a Republican since June, 2024. Sydney Sweeney in late July, featured in an American Eagle ad campaign. In the video ad, Sydney can be seen wiping the word "genes" and replacing it with "jeans" on a poster which read, "Sydney Sweeney has great genes."
She also says,
"Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue."
Critics of the ad had accused the company and the actress of spreading "racist" and "N*zi propaganda", while also claiming that the messaging used was "eugenics coded."
More Republicans come to Sydney Sweeney's defense
Ever since BuzzFeed News published an article revealing that Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican since June, 2024 as per publicly available voter registration records, Donald Trump along with other high profile Republicans have come to the actress' defense.
Trump called Sydney's ad "fantastic" and also described it as the "HOTTEST ad out there."
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in a post on X said,
"Wow. Now the crazy Left has come out against beautiful women. I'm sure that will poll well."
Vice President JD Vance during an appearance on the Ruthless podcast said,
"My political advice to the Democrats is continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a N*zi."
Former Illinois Republican Rep, Adam Kinzinger, while reacting to the Pete Hegseth post said,
"Hey parents, I know you son or daughter maybe in harm's way and doing a lethal job, but triggering the libs is our ultimate goal here at DOD."
Trump's son, Donald Jr., also showed his support last week by sharing an AI generated image of Trump in Sydney's place in the ad with the caption,
"That Hanse...Um, Donald is so hot right now!!!"
Fox News contributor Kat Timpf during an appearance on the late-night political comedy show, Gutfeld! expressed her disbelief at the outrage and claimed that she had a "hard time believing this controversy is real."
