The rumor that Sharon Stone and Nelly once dated has floated around Hollywood gossip circles for a long time. Now, the Basic Instinct star has confirmed that she did once go out with the rapper.
However, Stone and the three-time Grammy winner made it clear that their meeting was brief and did not move beyond a first date. The actress's revelation came during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. When asked if she had ever dated Nelly, Stone laughed and admitted:
"Yes I did."
The revelation reportedly drew audible gasps from the studio audience and surprise from Cohen and guest Bob Odenkirk. She was also asked whether the date led to a second outing. Stone shook her head and replied:
"No, I did not."
With that, a rumor was finally put to rest. However, the details of the date remain Sharon Stone's secret.
More on Sharon Stone
Sharon Stone is best known for films such as Casino, Total Recall, and Basic Instinct. She has been relatively candid about her history with relationships. The actress is a mother to three adopted sons and is currently single. In past interviews, she has spoken about the challenges of finding meaningful connections later in life, particularly through modern dating apps.
In January 2024, Stone told The Times that using Tinder and similar platforms had produced mixed results. At one point, her account on Bumble was blocked because administrators assumed it was a fake profile. She also described a troubling encounter where she discovered that her date was struggling with "heroin addiction". Meeting at the Hotel Bel-Air, she recalled realizing the man was "clearly 20,000 injections later than the picture he sent."
Sharon Stone excused herself shortly after arriving, telling the waiter she would only stay for a glass of water before leaving. Notably, she does not keep a checklist for potential partners.
About rapper Nelly

Nelly's real name is Cornell Haynes Jr. The 50-year-old rapper rose to fame in the early 2000s with hits like Ride Wit Me, Hot in Herre, and Dilemma.
Away from music, his personal life has also drawn attention. In 2023, he married singer Ashanti, and the couple welcomed a son, Kareen. Nelly is also father to daughter Chanelle and son Cornell, with former partner Channetta Valentine. In addition, he adopted his late sister's two children, Shawn and Sydney, after she passed away from leukemia in 2005.
Nelly has also faced legal issues. He was arrested in August 2024 in St. Louis over what his lawyer described as a "no proof of insurance" warrant from years earlier. Reports initially suggested drug possession, but his attorney strongly denied those claims.
