Did Taylor Swift make a secret cameo in Happy Gilmore 2? Singer responds to viral rumors

Taylor Swift is clearing the air about fan speculation that she made a secret cameo in Happy Gilmore 2.

The singer is no stranger to the big screen, and the latest Adam Sandler film features a litany of celebrity cameos, including Swift's beau, Travis Kelce. In a scene, Kelce plays a waiter being doused in honey before getting attacked by a bear. That's all it took for fans to begin speculating that it was actually Taylor Swift hiding in the grizzly costume!

However, during her recent appearance on Travis and brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast, Swift said:

“This is one of those ones where we’ll [Travis and I] send it to each other and be like, ‘Hey, did you hear I was the bear in there?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, you hear we bought a house in Lake Como?’...At this point, we’re just like, ‘Of course they think I’m inside of a bear costume.’ I’m honored to be thought of in that context because I loved that movie so much. I watched it multiple times, loved it so much. Whoever did the bear acting was exquisite performance.”

According to IMDb, Brandon Alan Smith, a stuntman, has been credited in the film as the Bear Performer.

Elle reports that Happy Gilmore 2 began filming in September last year and finished early in December. At the time, Taylor Swift was on the road for her Eras tour, though she had a break between August 21 and October 17. Nonetheless, she has confirmed that she wasn't the one beneath the costume.

However, she did have good things to say about the film, which also features guest appearances from Eminem, Bad Bunny, and more.

“Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie! An absolute must-watch, 13/10, go watch it on @netflix as soon as possible 🍯” Taylor Swift wrote on her Instagram Stories.

Her post came a day after Travis Kelce made their relationship Instagram official since they began dating in 2023. He shared a string of photos of the two, which was "intentional," according to a source for People:

"They’ve been private in their own way, but this was his way of showing how serious things have become. They’re in a really solid place and more in sync than ever.”
