A new video of Tom Cruise abruptly walking out on an interview with The View after being asked about his personal beliefs in the Church of Scientology has gone viral.

In the now-viral video, shared by The Narrator and amassing 80,000 views as of this writing, the voiceover describes an instance where the actor sits down at The View’s studio for a conversation with Joy Behar. During the interview, she ambushes him with questions about his affiliations with the contentious church.

Although there is no video, the voiceover describes a heated encounter—one that has Tom Cruise bolting out of the studio in anger. However, the video is AI-generated, and there is no further proof to corroborate the claims that such an instance happened. Neither Cruise nor Behar has commented on the situation either.

Tom Cruise's history of awkward interviews explored:

Notably, while Tom Cruise’s interview with Joy Behar may have been fabricated, the actor has a history of awkward interviews. Back in June 2014, he sat down for an interview with Matt Lauer on Today to promote his film War of the Worlds. However, the conversation shifted to his then-relationship with Katie Holmes and Scientology.

Tom Cruise, who was engaged to his now-estranged wife at the time, was asked about introducing Holmes to Scientology. At the time, he responded by noting that Scientology deals with the spirit and equips its followers with tools for their lives.

In another part of the interview, he slammed Matt Lauer for not knowing much about the subject before he segued into psychiatry, referring to it as a “pseudoscience.” He also slammed the use of antipsychotic drugs, which he claimed merely “mask the problem.” Instead, he suggested that those with depression and other mental illnesses opt for “vitamins” and “exercise.”

More recently, however, he sat down with The View in 2009 while promoting his film Valkyrie. At the time, he was asked about his fellow Church of Scientology member John Travolta’s son’s death. He took a long pause before he spoke of Jett Travolta:

"It's horrific. It's just horrific. Here's a man who... both of them [are] doting parents and just wonderful people. John just adored him, both of his children..."

He also addressed Joy Behar’s question that Scientology members are asked to avoid visiting the hospital for any ailments:

"That's just not true... It's actually the opposite," he said, before recalling an instance with Jett Travola when he was a kid: "I remember Jett when he was born... I saw him when he was, I guess, a few months old and... It’s something that I don’t have the words for."
