DJ Akademiks has weighed in on the drama between Cardi B and JT.

Cardi B took to the famed clubs of NYC this week, along with DJ Clue and music executive Reterik, to shell out $25,000 cash at the dancers. Per TMZ, her move was a shot at her newest troll, JT.

"Spend a b*tch f***in' streams in the club ... $25,000," Cardi said on her livestream before rapping her new JT diss song, "Magnet." "All that d*** ridin', still ain't get no feature-ass b*tch," she rapped.

JT fired back with her own diss track, titled "Keep Coming," which DJ Akademiks reportedly premiered on his livestream. Although the song has since been taken down from livestreams, Akademiks claimed that Cardi B would not be retorting at JT:

"Nah Cardi's poppin right now," he said in response to her livestream. "It's very clear to me, Cardi's not responding with a song. I think it's smart for her. Why engage with JT with new songs? If anything, you take her diss song and just point back to your album, and let people keep funneling that energy into your album rather than you giving her some new energy. I completely get it," he said.

Shortly after Cardi B debuted her long-awaited studio album, Am I The Drama?, last month, DJ Akademiks took to his official X page to wish her success with her album:

"I want Cardi B to do well first week not only cuz I fw her but because it’s the first time in years we’ve seen a big artist not act Hollywood and go out their way to put promotion behind their music. Everyone nowadays 2 cool to promote or do every outlet and get every look to win."

The new album in question, Cardi's sophomore, features guest appearances from Selena Gomez, Summer Walker, Cash Cobain, Lourdiz, Janet Jackson, Tyla, Megan Thee Stallion, Kehlani, and Lizzo.

Days later, however, DJ Akademiks took to X again to allege that the songstress inflated the sale of her new album:

"Cardi B’s AM I THE DRAMA became the fastest female album to go platinum but not because the album’s new tracks. Cardi B inflated her sales with with 5-year-old records and her new songs ‘Imaginary Players’ and ‘Outside’ were barely moving 50k and 100k streams globally before the album drop."

The album has since been certified Platinum by the RIAA. It features 23 tracks, including her viral singles WAP and UP. Both of the tracks were certified in the past, with 9x and 5x certifications, respectively.
