Zootopia 2 is a sequel to 2016's Zootopia, and it was released on November 26, 2025. Before that, the animated buddy cop comedy flick premiered at LA's El Capitan Theatre. It's directed by Jared Bush (also the writer) and Byron Howard. Yvett Merino has produced it for Walt Disney Studios. Here's the official synopsis as per IMDb:

Brave rabbit cop Judy Hopps and her friend, the fox Nick Wilde, team up again to crack a new case, the most perilous and intricate of their careers.

Let's see if the film has an end-credit scene.

Yes, there is a post-credit scene in Zootopia 2, so the audience should stick around after the credits roll. Towards the end, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde manage to prove that not all lizards and snakes are evil.

It begins with a mid-credit scene as shown in the extended version of the film's main track, Zoo. The song is sung by Shakira, who has also penned it with Ed Sheeran. It also provides a recap of which character was voiced by which actor. The scene is a montage of all the characters dancing to a tune. After that, the end credits scene begins with Judy writing in her notebook. Suddenly, her neighbor's loud noises distract her attention. It's because they are disturbed by her loud music.

Judy walks away from the frame, and the camera pans on her notebook, where a feather drops silently. It's a subtle hint at a potential third installment. The first one was about mammals, while the second focused on reptiles. So we can expect a third film to be about birds.

Zootopia 2 features a voice cast including

  • Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps
  • Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde
  • Quinta Brunson as Dr. Fuzzby
  • Ke Huy Quan as Gary De'Snake
  • Fortune Feimster as Nibbles Maplestick
  • Danny Trejo as Jesús
  • Andy Samberg as Pawbert Lynxley
  • David Strathairn as Milton Lynxley
  • Shakira as Gazelle
  • Idris Elba as Chief Bogo
  • Patrick Warburton as Mayor Brian Winddancer

While we can guess that the last sequence hints at a third installment, it hasn't been officially confirmed. The first film in the franchise was released in 2016 and was a critical and box-office success. It also bagged an Oscar for Best Animated Feature. The film's success also inspired a television spin-off, Zootopia+.
