Tamika Chesser, a Beauty and the Geek Australia alum, is being accused of murdering and dismembering her partner, Julian Story. His body without the head was found at their shared residence in Port Lincoln, South Australia, in June, as per the local authorities.
In the most recent reports from July 31, police were notified by a person walking their dog about finding a skull, which is assumed to belong to Story. In a press conference, Superintendent Darren Fielke of the South Australia Police shared,
“Preliminary investigations and phone calls to the forensic science centre have provided information that the remains are most likely human and I believe they are the remains of Julian Story.”
He also elaborated on how the remains were found,
“My understanding is that the person who contacted us today was walking their dog in that area.”
The Superintendent continued,
“The dog ran off into the scrub. The dog didn’t come back when called. The person has gone in to see what’s going on and that’s how those remains were discovered.”
As of now, however, there is no conclusive evidence to confirm the remains as belonging to Story and they have been sent for further testing.
Accusations against Tamika Chesser and more
The Tamika Chesser investigation is truly unbelievable. According to reports, the police showed up to the scene on June 19 in response to a fire and found Story’s body instead. At the time, the South Australia Police released a statement that shocked the entire community.
"It was a confronting scene for police and emergency services.Julian's head had been removed during the dismemberment and, despite extensive searches, has not yet been located."
In the aftermath, the police continued to ramp up their efforts to make sure that justice is served. They continue to receive help in spades from the local communities, who also desire to end this saga swiftly, for the sake of the victim and his loved ones. Superintendent Fielke reflected the wishes of an entire community when he said that,
"It is crucial that we locate Julian's head so that his family has the opportunity to lay him to rest."
According to reports from The Guardian, Tamika Chesser is currently being held at James Nash House, a psychiatric facility in Adelaide. She made her July 31 Port Lincoln magistrates court date via video call and will not be asked before the court again until December 18. Incidentally, Tamika Chesser is facing additional charges from June 19 for allegedly assaulting a police officer the day after her arrest.
