Multi-hyphenate Dolly Parton is currently in the news, as she recently faced issues related to her health. The 79-year-old American singer-songwriter and actress, Parton, is dealing with health problems related to her kidneys. When her sister, Frieda Parton, a singer as well, shared a post on Facebook on October 7, 2025, regarding her sister's health and asked her fans to pray for her, things got a little "blown out of proportion."
After Freida's Facebook post scared Dolly Parton's fans, Olly Rowland, Dolly's longtime manager, took control of the situation by clarifying the matter to her fans and the netizens. As cited by US Weekly, on Tuesday, October 7, Rowland informed the Las Vegas Review-Journal that:
"It's just the kidney stones, and the procedure she needs to resolve those. It looks like her sister posted, and it got quite a bit blown out of proportion, weirdly."
The Blue Valley Songbird star, Dolly Parton, who is also a businesswoman and philanthropist, has rescheduled several of her Las Vegas shows, originally scheduled for December 2025. The Love Is Like a Butterfly singer informed her fans about her health issues and that she needs to go through some medical procedures. In September, Dolly, who was married to businessman Carl Dean for sixty years, shared her apologies for not being able to attend an event at Dollywood due to a kidney stone infection.
According to US Weekly, Dolly Parton, who has had a long and successful singing and acting career, took to Instagram on September 28, 2025, and shared that she has rescheduled her Las Vegas shows from December 2025 to September 2026. Dolly Parton said in a statement:
"I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las vagas concerts. As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it's not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!"
Parton went ahead and said:
"In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you."
The Jolene hitmaker, Dolly Parton, assured her fans that she just needed some time to recover so that she could get back to all her projects and shows.
Let's take a closer look at Dolly Parton's sister, Freida's, Facebook post

Dolly's sister, Freida Parton, in her October 7 Facebook post, which scared Dolly's fans and the public, wrote about her sister's health:
"Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn't been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayers, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me."
Freida added:
"She's strong, she's loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she's going to be just fine. Godspeed, my silly Dolly. We all love you."
However, on the same day, October 7, Freida shared another post about her sister, Dolly Parton, assuring the public that she is safe and is doing fine. Freida wrote:
"I want to clear something up. I didn't mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly."
Freida further added:
"She's been a little under the weather, and I simply, asked for prayers because, I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference."
