Duck Dynasty alum Phil Robertson has died at the age of 79.

As reported by The Independent, several family members confirmed his passing this Sunday, though the cause of death remains unclear. Collider has reported that Phil Robertson had to go into retirement after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and according to The Independent, his longstanding blood disease had taken a turn for the worse in the last few years.

In their podcast Unashamed with the Robertson Family, Jase revealed that his father was suffering from a "blood disease that’s causing all kinds of problems,” adding that he wasn't "doing well. He’s really struggling.”

Korie Robertson, the wife of Phil Robertson’s son Willie, penned on social media:

“We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord. He reminded us often of the words of Paul, ‘You do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.'"

She added,

“Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and by his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus. We’re grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again. We know so many of you love him and have been impacted by his life. We’re having a private service for now, but we’ll share details soon about a public celebration of his life.”

Phil Robertson's son Jace also penned on X:

“My dad has gone to be with the Lord today! He will be missed but we know he is in good hands, and our family is good because God is very good! We will see him again!”

Per Deadline, A&E has since postponed the premiere date of Duck Dynasty: The Revival to June 1, instead of May 28. Scroll down to know everything about the forthcoming show.

Phil Robertson's family carries on his legacy in Duck Dynasty: The Revival. Here's all you need to know:

Duck Dynasty: The Revival chronicles the lives of Willie and Korie Robertson as they tackle their ever-growing duck-hunting family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The family's duck business, based at their estate in Louisiana, is growing, and the pair must now also focus on guiding their family through marriage, parenthood, and entrepreneurship.

"With their dynasty expanding into more than just ducks," the announcement continues, "Willie and Korie will bring their signature humor and family fun as they grapple with mapping out the future of Duck Commander, watching the kids navigate marriage, children and businesses of their own, and passing down the family legacy," the network's press release states, as reported by E! News.

The series is making a comeback to the network after eight years, having bagged the green light for two seasons in January. Its original predecessor ran for 11 seasons on A&E, and according to Deadline, it amassed about 11.8 million viewers in its heyday. It was the most-watched non-fiction series in cable history.

Fans can expect familiar characters from the first run, such as Uncle Si Robertson and Miss Kay Robertson, apart from Willie and Korie's kids, John Luke, Sadie, Will Jr., Bella and Rebecca, to make a comeback. However, Jase and Jep Robertson, series regulars in the original run, will only be spotted a handful of times this time.

“Going back on A&E feels a little like going back home," Willie and Korie said in a joint statement according to the outlet. "We’re thankful for all who have followed along as our family has grown and expanded and can’t wait to get cameras rolling again on all our new adventures, or perhaps misadventures."

At the time of writing, it remains unclear if Phil Robertson will make an appearance on the reboot.
