Former basketball player Dwight Howard’s legal team has responded to his spouse Amy Luciani’s allegations. For the unversed, Amy Luciani, whose real name is Amber Rose Howard, initiated divorce proceedings on July 1, but prior to that, she requested a protective order against Howard.

As viewed by Us Weekly, the court papers mentioned that Howard allegedly put her on medication and also engaged in a physical altercation with her. This petition was ultimately dismissed by her. Speaking to the outlet, Dwight Howard’s legal representative, Gillian B. Fierer, said:

“Unfortunately, since the beginning of the parties’ relationship, Amber has manufactured truths and manipulated reality. It is she who has been volatile, aggressive, and assaultive toward Dwight.”

Fierer went on:

“Amber filed a patently false family violence action and then did not pursue that action against Dwight because Dwight has never done anything remotely assaultive in nature to Amber, and she would not have been able to prove otherwise.”

In her petition, Amy Luciani alleged that Dwight Howard gave her what he called a healthy tea, but it was a dr*g called Molly. She said it made her sick, and she wasn’t given any medical assistance. Luciani also accused Howard of having an obsessive behavior. She claimed:

“Whenever my husband gets upset, he locks me out of our home. I have called the police a few times because my husband changed the gate code to our home, stopping me from entering home.”

Meanwhile, according to Hot97, in terms of divorce settlement, Dwight Howard is looking forward to retaining his house in Georgia while Amy Luciani seeks a fair allotment of the assets.

What did Amy Luciani write about Dwight Howard last year?

Gillian B. Fierer also told Us Weekly that they were upset that what should have been a quick and easy divorce turned into a court fight. They claimed this kind of behavior matched Amy Luciani’s personality. Dwight Howard strongly rebuffed Amy’s claims and was hopeful that the truth would come out. He wanted to move on with his life and stay away from her false statements.

As per the court documents, Howard and Amy’s marriage date was January 11, 2025. The reason for the separation, as quoted by Amy, is an irreparable relationship.

Before her divorce filing, Dwight Howard also applied for legal separation on June 27. In his filing, he alleged ill-treatment from Amy.

It seems the couple had their engagement last year. At the time, Amy Luciani showed off her engagement on Instagram. According to People Magazine, other photos showed her and others enjoying themselves at Dwight Howard’s birthday. She wrote:

“I was enjoying you so much out of the public eye but here we are. Thank you for bringing me back to the word. Anything I say or fuss about, first thing you say is ‘Did you pray about it?’ Then I realized I hadn’t being praying much lately at all.”

Amy Luciani said she felt thankful and happy for what she got. She shared that she had prayed deeply on a Thursday, not knowing that just two days later, God would bring her someone caring and kind. The two tied the knot in a private ceremony.
