Ready or Not 2, also known as Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, is the forthcoming sequel to the 2019 original. The comedy horror film is helmed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, while R. Christopher Murphy and Guy Busick are the screenwriters. The film is produced by Tripp Vinson, William Sherak, James Vanderbilt and Bradley J. Fischer. It is scheduled to be released theatrically by Searchlight Pictures on April 10, 2026.

Elijah Wood talks about Ready or Not 2
Elijah Wood has been cast in the upcoming film Ready or Not 2. In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, the actor spoke about the sequel and said:
“I’m a big fan of [the production company] Radio Silence. I love their films. I love the original. I think Ready or Not is a total blast. I love Samara in that film. I love the cast of that movie and the kind of nugget of the mythology that you get.”
He continued,
“What I love about this sequel is that it really deepens that mythology, so I’m stoked for people to see it. It’s a movie that takes place almost immediately after the first one ends and enriches everything you love about the original film.”

The makers have kept the plot details of the sequel under wraps. What we know so far is Samara Weaving will reprise her role as Grace Maccaullay, who was the daughter-in-law of the Le Domas family in the first installment. The first film was released on July 27, 2019 and it was directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin. It focused on a young bride who realizes that her in-laws are playing a ritual to worship satan. To achieve this, they try to hunt her and the entire film focuses on her survival.
Ready or Not had its world premiere at the 2019 Fantasia Film Festival. Upon release, the film met with positive reviews and grossed $57.6 million, against a budget of $6 million. While nothing is confirmed, we can expect the sequel to follow from the events of the first film.
Ready or Not 2 is slated to hit the theatres on April 10, 2026.
