During her recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers on October 8, and shared a humorous celebrity encounter with Hugh Grant and his wife, Anna Eberstein. Taylor's fiancé, Travis Kelce, encountered them in the VIP area while at Swift's London performance, where he then went to congratulate Anna on Barbie's success, mistaking her for director Greta Gerwig.

Later that night, Travis Kelce, did realised the mix-up he had made when he saw the real Greta Gerwig, standing a few feet away from him.

Who is Hugh Grant's wife Anna Eberstein?

Hugh Grant and Anna Eberstein tied the knot back in 2018, in a modest, private ceremony in London. Eberstein is a Swedish entrepreneur and television producer and has completed her master's in economics from Uppsala University in Sweden and Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee. She was a marketing producer at ESPN before co-founding Ace & Me, a line of kids' clothes.

They have three children together, with son John Mungo being the eldest, who was born in 2012, followed by daughter Lulu Danger, who was born in 2015, and finally, daughter Blue, who was born in 2018.

The family of five primarily reside in the UK. The couple are hardly seen together at public events as Eberstein prefers to stay out of the media spotlight, unlike her husband, who has to attend events. However, she will be seen attending premieres and award ceremonies, alongside Hugh Grant, like the Los Angeles premiere of Wonka, where Grant played the role of an orange Oompa Loompa who had green hair and was 18 inches tall.

Recently, the pair were seen at Wimbledon in July this year, as they enjoyed the game from the Royal Box. Grant was spotted donning a dark suit and tie, while Eberstein sported a stylish white minidress with black details. The two had a great time as they were spotted with all smiles. The event also included Queen Camilla and other celebrities like Judy Murray and Hannah Waddingham.

The duo were also seen at the Palace of Versailles in France back in September 2023, as they attended a banquet in which King Charles and Queen Camilla were also present.

The Travis Kelce mix-up

Travis Kelce tried to complement Barbie during Swift's Eras Tour in London, but he thought Anna Eberstein was Greta Gerwig. Swift recalled:

"The most fun thing about having Travis out on tour is, like, he would go to the tents and, like, give me the tea afterward. We’d do the debrief afterward in the car."

She continued:

"'I got to let you know, your favorite director is in the tent.' He loves Greta Gerwig. He loves her movies. He loves her range, you know what I mean? Like, being able to do this many different types of films. It’s incredible. Genre-hopping. It’s really impressive. And so, he was like, 'Oh, my God, I really want to tell her how funny I thought Barbie was.' And I’m like, 'You absolutely should. She’s the sweetest, giggliest person to tell that you like their work. You’re gonna love her.'"

So while they debriefed in the car, Travis confided in Tayloer that he was afraid his "I’m just Ken, too" had irritated Greta. Greta's lack of response seemed unusual to Taylor, and Trav went on to say that she was "talking to Hugh Grant all night" and they were "really, really close."

Then Taylor said:

"Is there any chance at all, baby, that you complimented Hugh Grant’s wife, Anna, on her movie Barbie, said, 'I’m just Ken too,' and she politely nodded because she didn’t have the heart to tell you she didn’t direct it. And is there any chance that the people that look like soulmates are Hugh Grant and his soulmate?'"

The anecdote went viral real quick.

Hugh Grant on his marriage and parenthood

Grant has frequently talked kindly about his marriage to Eberstein. In an interview with Today in 2018, he said:

"It's really nice, I can't pretend it isn't. I should have done it before. I'm just lucky. I'm lucky. I've got a great wife. I love her."

In response to internet rumors that he was getting married for "passport reasons," back in June 2021. Grant explained:

"No I didn't, @Internet. I married her because I love her."

He also spoke about parenthood, describing it:

"It was the nicest thing that's ever happened to me. ... It's just lovely to have all that love around. Suddenly you love someone more than yourself. It's unheard of in my case. And they love you and it's all enchanting."

Speaking to his co-star, Nicole Kidman, during an interview with Marie Claire, he revealed:

"You had your family with you, which was, I think, very sensible. I thought, 'Oh, fantastic opportunity to get away from my screaming children.' I left everyone in London. And then as soon as I got to New York each time I came out to film, I missed so much. It was, it was awful."

Hugh Grant and his former girlfriend, Tinglan Hong, also have a son, Felix Chang and a daughter, Tabitha Xaio Xi.
