Sydney Sweeney is weighing in on the controversy surrounding her Bathwater Soap and the success of Jacob Elordi's candle in contrast.

As reported by Variety, the Euphoria actress, who also recently stirred up major controversy for her American Eagle jeans ad campaign, addressed the drama surrounding her collaboration with Dr. Squatch. She collaborated with the bath products company to engineer a soap made with her “bathwater," and it was a limited-edition soap that sold out within seconds of its launch on June 6, 2025.

"It’s important to have a finger on the pulse of what people are saying, because everything is a conversation with the audience,” Sweeney said of the soap, which is called Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss.

Speaking with The Wall Street Journal, she remarked:

“It was mainly the girls making comments about it, which I thought was really interesting. They all loved the idea of Jacob Elordi’s bathwater.”

She was referring to her co-star's Bathwater, which debuted in January 2024, at the height of all the attention his film Saltburn was getting.

Everything you need to know about Jacob Elordi's Bathwater candle:

Variety reported back in January 2024 that in the Emerald Fennell-directed project, Oliver, played by Barry Keoghan, became obsessed with Elordi's character Felix. 30 minutes into the film, he drank some of his bathwater. The scene quickly spawned thousands of memes before becoming a candle.

Titled “Jacob Elordi’s Bathwater,” the candle retailed on Etsy for $27.91 and on Amazon for $36. The description of the same read:

“There’s nothing quite like the smell of a quality candle, particularly when that smell is inspired by Jacob Elordi and what we imagine His Highness to smell like.”

It came in three scents: vanilla, comfort spice, and sea breeze. Several companies had a hand in selling the product, including Side Hustle Vibes, also home to Drake’s bathwater, Harry Styles' bathwater, and Eau De Timothée.

By February last year, Jamie Valentino of Pop Sugar penned their review about the candle, which read as follows, in part:

"I typically like a scent to punch me in the face, but Jacob Elordi's Bathwater is like a kiss of cinnamon on my forehead, sprinkled with sugar for sweetness. I can see myself using it when friends come over, echoing that same welcoming feeling that accompanies the smell of fresh-baked cookies. Overall, it's a solid candle. The wick burns effectively producing a puddle of wax in no time (be patient, it takes a little longer for the smell to linger in the air). More importantly, the candle retains its aroma for multiple rounds."
