Sabrina Carpenter's dad is not a fan of Usher feeding his daughter cherries at the Met Gala.
In a screenshot circulating online, Carpenter's dad, David Carpenter, can be seen sending his daughter the image of her and Usher in question, though the accompanying text is what has fans chuckling:
"? Weird," Sabrina Carpenter's "Dadda" penned.
Here's how one fan reacted on X, for instance:
"Lol her dad's reaction is too relatable, gotta protect the family brand"
The comments didn't end there:
"Dads always losing it over celeb nonsense like it's a huge scandal, hilarious how they'd buy into anything these days," someone quipped.
"Her dad calling this weird but not her wild stage antics is kinda funny tho," another pointed out.
"Dad coded lol," one more chimed in.
"I mean does her dad watch the Juno poses?" a fourth user probed.
Even more chimed in to poke fun:
"he said not my pop princess getting fed by confessions era," one user hilariously pointed out.
"Help not her dad speaking," another jested.
"I sure hope he never sees some of her Juno poses," someone else echoed.
"lmao dads be wildin' sometimes," one X user joked.
Notably, though, a few users did take issue with the comment, with some pointing out that Usher feeding Sabrina Carpenter cherries was perfectly innocent.
Sabrina Carpenter reveals the real reason she wasn't allowed to wear pants to the Met Gala this year:
Sabrina Carpenter also had fans laughing when she revealed the real reason she showed up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for this year's Met Gala without pants.
On Monday, May 5, the pop star reflected on why she wore a burgundy, tuxedo-style, pantless Louis Vuitton bodysuit with a lengthy train. The 25-year-old paired her look with necklaces, rings, and even an anklet, all of which had blingy diamonds on them. She completed her look with "super-high shoes," which she described as a "staple for me in my life."
Speaking of who designed her costume and why, she told Vogue reporters at the red carpet:
"This is Pharrell. I'm such a massive fan of Pharrell's and have been to the show and I was just like, 'If I could go this year with him, that would be my dream.' And it came true," she said. "He was like, 'You're quite short so no pants for you.' So here we are. Here we are," she added.
The singer-songwriter jokingly shared that while it was her third time at the Met Gala, it was the first time she solved a certain problem.
"Never been to the bathroom once because I've never been able to use it in my outfit. So tonight might be the night," she said. "We'll see... And I'm just gonna let everybody know what it looks like. I'm sure it's just a normal museum bathroom but I'm excited to find out."
