Charlize Theron, who is gearing up for the release of her new movie, The Old Guard 2, was praised by her co-star, Henry Golding, for her commitment to her work. In an exclusive interview with People Magazine, Henry Golding compared Charlize Theron to Tom Cruise in terms of work ethic. He said:

"She is the female counterpart to a Tom Cruise."

According to People Magazine, Charlize Theron reprises the role of Andromache of Scythia, or Andy, in the new The Old Guard movie after a gap of five years. The movie shall follow the group of immortal mercenaries led by Andy, who face off against an ancient enemy. The original star-studded cast, comprising Kiki Layne, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and others, is also set to return alongside Charlize Theron.

More about Charlize Theron's new movie, as co-star Henry Golding praises the actress

In his interview with People Magazine, Henry Golding praised Charlize Theron for the immense effort she puts into the making of her films. He said that Theron is dedicated and passionate about her projects, so much so that she is always the first one on set and the last to leave, adding that she is an all-round, hands-on person. He said:

"She leads from the front. She’s the producer. She’s on set first thing in the morning, last at night, and she’s creating what she wants and she’s in there with the action. She’s in there with the choreography,”

Charlize Theron, in her appearance on the Today Show, talked about doing most of her own stunts and discussed doing a particularly difficult one where she had to hang from the side of a helicopter. She said:

"This was .. weirdly a lot of fun. I have a fear of heights and I am not very fond of helicopters. And I have children, part of me is like I don't need to die."

When asked whether she felt scared doing that stunt, she said:

"The first two time for sure, yeah you have this moment when you eventually just have to let go. And you're like 'why am I doing this, I should not hang on to this helocopter.' And then you get comfortable with it. Then it feels like a ride... towards the end."

Henry Golding further added in his exclusive interview with People Magazine during the red carpet premiere of The Old Guard 2 last Wednesday, that Theron is one of the rare movie talents left who, like Tom Cruise, is willing to go the extra mile. He said:

"She and Tom Cruise are some of the last of the movie stars."

Last month, during an interview with Variety, Henry Golding, who is going to play the role of Tuah, revealed how he had injured himself during filming. He said:

"It always happens – I throw my back out. We do a lot of stunts. There are a few crazy things. It’s always in practice. It’s always the day before we’re meant to be filming. I’m like, [Golding makes a squealing sound], and then I’m blown out for the rest of the week.”

The Old Guard 2 is set to release on Netflix on July 2, and will feature Uma Thurman in a new role opposite Charlize Theron.
