Filmmaker Jennifer Abbott, 69, tragically lost her life in an alleged robbery incident. Her body was recovered from her home in Camden, London, after she had been missing for four days.
Neighbors and her niece discovered her body cocooned in a blanket with her mouth taped. According to the police, she was targeted for her expensive Rolex watch. The post-mortem report indicated that she died from stab wounds.
Jennifer Abbott's pet dog, a corgi, was rescued from a locked bathroom where it had been confined for three days; remarkably, it survived. As reported by Mirror, a neighbor, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated:
“My son broke the door down. We heard her niece shouting: ‘Somebody help me, somebody help’ and we went out and asked ‘what’s wrong?’ She said: ‘I haven’t heard from my aunty in four days. Something’s wrong - break the door down.’”
They added:
“I was holding the door open downstairs and my son was upstairs and then I heard her niece screaming and saying: ‘Oh my God, she’s been murdered’. She had tape across her mouth. Her corgi was locked in the bathroom for three days.”
The neighbor said the dog had been in such bad shape that it couldn't even drink water, and it was surprising that it had survived.
They described Jennifer Abbott as a smart and mysterious person. They often had conversations with her outside and even used to walk around the block with her and her dog.
What did the Chief Superintendent say about the investigation into Jennifer Abbott’s death?
Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart explained that they were collaborating with the homicide team to understand the full circumstances surrounding the death. He emphasized the importance of anyone with information coming forward, as it could help identify the person responsible for Jennifer Abbott’s death.
The neighbor found it hard to believe they wouldn’t see her walking her corgi anymore and remembered her as lively and full of energy.
The neighbor had seen a film directed by Jennifer Abbott and even watched an interview from Los Angeles. They described her as full of personality and very kind. The neighbor also expressed shock over her passing, saying it was hard to accept that she was truly gone.
She recalled telling her son how unbelievable it felt that they had been sitting in their living room, unaware of what she was going through just nearby. According to a statement from another woman,
“I just used to see her walking around with her little corgi. We just said hello, waved to each other and smiled. She used to walk the dog every couple of days. She kept herself to herself, she wasn’t too sociable but kind, polite and well-mannered. The dog was fat and chubby and barked a lot.”
Jennifer Abbott hails from Scottsdale, Arizona, but she pursued her education in the UK before moving to Los Angeles. Her documentary, Gods of War, earned her an award.
