In an April 3 appearance on Fox 5 Washington DC, Real Housewives of Potomac star Ashley Darby paid tribute to the late Roberta Flack. Ashley sang Killing Me Softly with a band for Flack, who died on February 24. Ashley's performance was ahead of her "first exhibition at the legendary Mr. Henry's in Southeast DC," as per Fox 5's Instagram post.

After finishing her set, Ashley Darby expressed her love for singing and noted,

"I love singing. It's always been a passion of mine, and now I'm just pursuing it harcore."

After clips of her set went viral on the internet, netizens took to social media to disapprove of her singing and expressed that the reality star sounded off-key.

More about Ashley Darby's singing career

While Ashley Darby was best known for her appearance on The Real Housewives of Potomac, Darby has also expressed an interest in pursuing a career in music.

After her recent performance of Roberta Flack's Killing Me Softly, on April 4, Ashley expressed that her sons, Dean and Michael, who were present at their mother's performance, are supportive of her music career.

"They probably already know the whole song because every song that I sing, they learn. So for them to see me doing something that I love, I'm hoping that they really feel inspired to pursue their dreams too."

This isn't the first time Ashley Darby has expressed her love for music. The reality star released her debut song Coffee and Love in 2018, which she dedicated to her then-husband, Michael Darby. In a 2018 Instagram post, Ashley revealed that Coffee and Love is the new "marriage making anthem",

"Wooooo we have been cooking something great in the kitchen! 'Coffee and Love is the rump shaking, marriage making anthem."

After separating from Michael in 2022, Ashley released a new track, Healing and Thriving, during season 8 of RHOP.
