It won't be too long before we have our first glimpse at Tom Holland's fourth stint as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as rumors suggest that the first teaser for the film will be out this year. Marvel Studios has previously shared glimpses of the film's production, featuring Holland in a new suit and shooting in public. Getting a teaser before the year ends makes sense, as Spider-Man: Brand New Day is looking ahead at a mid-2026 release.

In a previous interview with Complex Pop, the actor has opened up about how it feels to be working on the film, as he told the outlet,

"Its a fresh start, it really feels like we're not making the fourth movie. We're making the first movie of the next chapter... It's a rebirth. It's a whole new thing"

The film swings into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as its 38th entry and the fourth solo adventure for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. Co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, the film promises a bold reset for the friendly neighborhood hero after the universe-altering events of Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film’s cast brings together Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III.

The events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day are set after Doctor Strange’s memory spell erased Peter Parker’s identity from the world. Brand New Day follows a more grounded Spider-Man who’s back to protecting the streets of New York. Zendaya returns as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon reprises his role as Ned Leeds, and Jon Bernthal enters the story as Frank Castle, the Punisher, whose brutal sense of justice collides with Peter’s moral compass.

Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, also steps in, along with Michael Mando’s Mac Gargan, aka Scorpion, and Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln, the crime boss Tombstone. Sadie Sink and Tramell Tillman’s roles remain under wraps, while rumors swirl about Charlie Cox returning as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer who once defended Peter.

As for what we can expect from the film, Kevin Feige spoke about the direction Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be taking. He talked about it during a roundtable for Fantastic Four: First Steps, and said,

“I think there’s a promise at the end of No Way Home, that for as sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories him being a proper Spider-Man. Him being by himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with — for lack of better terms — street-level crime, as opposed to world-ending events.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will release in the United States on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU. If its title and journey so far are any indication, this is Peter Parker starting over, one web page at a time.
