The first trailer for Chris Hemsworth's Crime 101 is finally out, and it shows a high-stakes heist thriller with Hemsworth in the center, accompanied by Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry and Barry Keoghan. The trailer opens with Chris Hemsworth’s Mike Davis and Halle Berry’s Sharon Colvin meeting outside a valet.
When Sharon jokes about joining his “line of work,” the scene cuts to Davis masked and armed behind the wheel, setting the tone for a sleek, dangerous heist thriller.
Detective Lou played by Mark Ruffalo then enters, briefing his team on a string of sophisticated robberies along California’s 101 freeway.
“We’re looking at robberies of jewels, money or high-value items in the last four years. Now, remove every robbery where there was DNA left at the scene. I think all of these are the same guy and he hits every time along the 101 freeway.” he says, convinced one man is behind them all.
As Davis plots his biggest heist yet, he persuades Sharon, vice president at a major firm, to help him steal $11 million, promising her $3 million in return.
The trailer teases tension between predator and prey when Lou unknowingly steps into Davis’s car. They talk cars, dreams, and The Thomas Crown Affair, each suspecting the other.
The film was first teased during CinemaCon in April where the stars unveiled the film's first look. Hemsworth then talked about how the film is a:
“Uniquely mesmerizing film, the kind that draws you into its world and keeps you in suspense in the last possible second."
