The film has received a PG-13 rating. Let's dive deep into that.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 gets a PG-13 rating

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has been officially rated PG-13. This is the same rating as the first film despite the makers promising more gore. The first one received a warning of “strong violent content, bloody images, and language.” But the sequel warning omits words like 'strong' and 'bloody images.'

Jason Blum, who co-produced Five Nights at Freddy's 2 with Scott Cawthon, addressed the first film’s criticism at CCXP, noting that they have learned from the experience.

“We took lots of criticism, saying it was not scary, lacked blood or strong scenes. We decided to implement all that in the sequel."
