Fred Armisen is crediting Jenna Ortega for inspiring him with her meticulousness in acting.
Armisen, who plays Jenna Ortega's character Wednesday's Uncle Fester in the Netflix hit show of the same name, recently spoke to People Magazine about what he picked up from his co-star while working on season 2.
As reported by the outlet, the actor was at the Wednesday Season 2, Part One World Premiere in London on July 30 at the time, which took place at Central Hall Westminster. The SNL alum said that Jenna Ortega, 22, motivated him to be more “meticulous” and “pay attention” while working scenes together.
"It's great watching Jenna, because she keeps track of the script in this way that she understands the logic of her character,” Armisen, 58, said. “It's not like she just shows up and it's like, ‘I'm just gonna do this character.’ She's like, ‘Why does this moment count? So she's very meticulous, and it makes me want to be more like her. I'm like, ‘No, I gotta [...] pay attention.' ”

In his interview with People Magazine, Fred Armisen also recalled one of his favorite BTS moments while filming for the forthcoming season:
“There was a scene in the insane asylum, and it's raining and it really felt like ‘Wow. I'm really on a TV show,’ you know? This fake rain and lightning and stuff, and it, it just makes me feel like if I was a little kid watching myself, I'd be like, ‘Wow, I'm really on a TV show.’ “
For the unversed, the Tim Burton-directed supernatural comedy follows its titular character as she navigates her life at Nevermore Academy High School. Catherine Zeta-Jones stars as Wednesday's mother, while Luiz Guzman plays her dad.
During a recent interview with Radio Times, Jenna Ortega was asked if the show is feminism-centric, to which she responded in the affirmative.
"Yes, definitely. I think the whole show should be empowering to anybody, really, but I'm really proud of how strong our female characters are," she explained.
She also pointed out the show's portrayal of all its female characters, beyond just the Addams'.
"Even outside the Addams family, in [Wednesday's fellow high school students] Enid and Bianca, they're very complex and layered people," Ortega said. "And I think that there's a woman for everyone."
Jenna Ortega then gushed over her on-screen mother, and the newest addition to the cast, Dame Joanna Lumley, who plays her grandmother.
"Some of the most glamorous, generous people I've ever met and had the pleasure to work with," she began, before adding: "Also talented. Unbelievably talented. I was so glad to have more scenes with Catherine this season. Yeah, obviously, Morticia is just such a delicious character, and Catherine has got the yummiest voice and persona, so it was really nice to be able to see her flesh that character out a bit more."
Wednesday Season 2 will drop in two parts, with the first part dropping this August 6. The second half will follow suit next month, on September 3.
