From Sabrina Carpenter to BLACKPINK’s Rosé to Tyler, The Creator: Artists honored at Variety Hitmaker Awards 2025

On December 6, the Variety Hitmaker Awards honored several artists across different categories. Several prominent names like Sabrina Carpenter, BLACKPINK’s Rosé, Tate McRae, Alex Warren, and more were awarded across different categories.

Sabrina Carpenter received Hitmaker of the Year, while Rosé was honored with Global Hitmaker of the Year awards at the Variety Hitmaker Awards this year. BLACKPINK’s Rosé even became the first K-pop artist to get the Global Hitmaker of the Year award at the Variety Hitmaker Awards.

BLACKPINK’s Rosé turned out to be the first K-pop artist to ever receive the ‘Global Hitmaker of the Year’ honor at the Variety Global Hitmakers event. She even emerged as the first K-soloist and the only member of her group to bag the Variety Hitmaker Award at the annual event. In her acceptance speech, BLACKPINK’s Rosé said:

“Um, if there is a lesson that l've learned about hitm making uh through this song, it would be that making music is all about capturing precious moments we experience to capture a raw authentic human connection and um yeah, it's been a real honor and privilege uh to have witnessed this through my own music.”

Sabrina Carpenter also spoke about her album Man’s Best Friend after accepting the Hitmaker of the Year award.

“This album was made with the mindset of how I made music when I was 10, which was this sounds good. I like this. Let's add a banjo. Let's call men stupid again. [— ] it. And uh, you know, this feels really good and it makes me want to like dance around the room with my friends. And my friends felt the same way. So that felt like a really good sign.” Sabrina said.

Benny Blanco, Laufey, Jake Shane, Jimmy Jam, Miles Caton, and more were award presenters at the Variety Hitmaker Awards event.
