Sony and Marvel quietly released a short behind-the-scenes teaser for Spider-Man: Brand New Day called "Day One on set," and it’s equal parts goofy and heartwarming as Tom Holland slides back into Spidey mode.

The clip trades big plot reveals for small human stuff, Holland taking pictures with kids, joking about “no pressure,” and soaking up a genuinely happy first day of shooting, while production gets fully underway in Glasgow. Holland can be seen putting on his new suit as he shakes hands with the crew while a voiceover of him plays as he says,

“My fourth ever day one on Spider-Man. You know, it’s funny putting the suit on. It feels different this time somehow. It’s also the first time we’ve ever had fans on set for day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them.’’

And yes, the suit is a mood: more comic-accurate reds and blues, textured fabric and raised webbing, plus a chunkier chest emblem. The teaser also reminds us this is a proper big-league production, with Destín Daniel Cretton directing and a cast that includes Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando, Sadie Sink, and Liza Colón-Zayas, and a July 31, 2026, release date to look forward to.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the start of a whole new Peter Parker era. The fourth MCU Spidey adventure (and the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) finds Tom Holland back in the suit, joined by Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Mando. Word on the street says Charlie Cox’s Daredevil might also swing in for some courtroom heroics.

Helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton with a script from Homecoming and No Way Home duo Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up after Doctor Strange’s spell wiped away the world’s memory of Peter’s identity. Stripped of global fame, Peter’s keeping his fight close to the ground, though with Punisher, Hulk, Scorpion, and whispers of Mister Negative in play, the ground might just give way beneath him.

Filming kicked off August 3, 2025, under the covert codename Blue Oasis, transforming Glasgow into a gritty New York. Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate saw chase scenes, explosions, and armored vehicles with red demon logos, possibly teasing the Inner Demons gang. A rhinoceros head prop stirred talk of Rhino, while Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey hosted a more somber shoot before cameras shifted to Pinewood Studios for indoor work.

With new threats, returning allies, and a suit that feels different this time, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is Peter Parker’s next big leap into a world that’s already forgotten him.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be in theaters on 31 July, 2026.
