NFL alum Tim Tebow and his wife, Demi-Leigh, have welcomed a child!

Tim Tebow, 37, and Demi-Leigh, 29, welcomed their first child, a girl, on Sunday, July 6, People Magazine has reported. They took to Instagram the following day to share the happy news. In it, the proud mom could be seen beaming as she holds her newborn close to her.

"Our daughter is here! We couldn’t be more grateful for the blessing and gift of this new little life," the caption read. "We’re so grateful to the whole medical team that assisted us in the best way possible during my labor and delivery," the couple continued. "From our doctor to our nurses and all the hospital staff — we are so grateful and thankful for you."

The parents then thanked their friend, Hannah Janoe, for snapping the pictures before relaying them to their fans:

"Thank you to everyone who’s been praying with us over her arrival. We are so incredibly thankful for all of the love and support we’ve felt," the post concluded, noting that the new parents "can't wait to share her name" soon.

Tim Tebow and Demi-Leigh's whirlwind romance explored as the pair welcome their first child together

Men's Journal has reported that Tim Tebow and his wife, the former Miss Universe, met back in 2018. At the time, they were at the former's annual worldwide prom, which is hosted by his foundation for children with special needs. Demi-Leigh was present as her sister dealt with a rare condition relating to a neurological developmental delay.

A whirlwind romance, and a few months later, the pair got engaged, and by January 2020, they tied the knot in South Africa, the pageant queen's hometown. They announced earlier this year that they were expecting, via a statement to People Magazine:

"We are just so excited and so over the moon to be having a baby together," Demi-Leigh told the outlet. Tim Tebow chimed in, noting that he's "honored for the privilege of getting the responsibility and the joy of being mom and dad."

They also shared a post on social media of the then-parents-to-be cradling Demi-Leigh's baby bump, with both mom and dad sporting a matching all-white ensemble. The caption read:

"We’re over the moon to step into parenthood together! Thank you, Jesus, for this incredible blessing and privilege of becoming a mom and dad. Thank you for entrusting us to raise one of Your precious children. We put our full trust in the plan and purpose You have for our child’s life. Thank you, everyone, for your kind words, heartfelt congratulations, and many prayers! We’ve heard it takes a village and we couldn’t be more grateful for the one that has gathered around us."

By March, Tim Tebow and his wife announced that they were having a girl. At the time, they shared a gender reveal post on Instagram, and the caption read:

"Baby Tebow is a…GIRL! 🎀🩷🕊️. Our greatest blessing. We’ve been praying for her long before we knew her, and we’re beyond grateful that God chose us to be her parents. We can’t wait to meet you, baby girl!" They added, "To create a meaningful piece of art for the nursery, we decided to find out the gender through painting! We chose two Bible verses—one for a boy and one for a girl—to add to the canvas once it was complete." "Now, let’s get this nursery in order! Bring on the pink bows, ruffles, and all things sweet. 🥰."

She also asserted in the video that she would have been “happy either way” but had a feeling “the whole time” that they would be expecting a girl.

Back in 2017, shortly after Tim Tebow proposed to her, Demi-Leigh gushed over her partner, whom she said “exceeded” her dreams. For his part, he shared a photo of the two in an intimate moment, with him down on one knee, while the caption read:

"Thank you for saying YES and making me the happiest man in the world. You’re the love of my life, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

Tim Tebow is one of the most prolific players of all time, both in Florida and in all of college history. He is credited with winning two national titles for the Gators, in 2006 and 2008, and was also honored with the Heisman Trophy in 2007. Back in 2023, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, Gainesville has reported.
