Blake Lively's mother, Elaine Lively, was a former actress and model. Elaine grew up in a small town in Tallapoosa, Georgia, and had "very humble beginnings," as per Blake's conversation with Vogue in 2014.
Lively, while describing her mother's early life, said,
"Her dad built their home out of timber that he cut down on their land. No heat, no air conditioning - no foolishness, as he would call it. She worked in the fields from sunup to sundown, from the time she could walk."
Last month, Blake's sister Robyn took to Instagram to shed light on her mother's life, saying,
"Not many know this, but shortly after she stepped into her most important role as mother to her 5 kids, she became a succesful model."
Robyn detailed that her mother was bullied in school and would take them with her to print jobs for modeling. Elaine drove her kids to auditions all over Atlanta, and she landed her first commercial when she was just 3. Robyn also expressed gratitude for her mother's sacrifices and for all the "invaluable opportunities."
Currently, Elaine works in talent management with child actors. During an interview with Radio Free Entertainment, Lively talked about her childhood and said,
"I've grown up on sets. My mom is a manager and always has kids come in for coaching, my family's always going over lines for an audition. I'm always stealing craft service."
Most recently at the Time 100 Gala on April 24, 2025, Lively revealed that her mom had survived an assault before giving birth to her.
