Greenland 2: Migration is an upcoming film in the survival post-apocalyptic thriller genre. It is a sequel to Greenland, which came out in 2020, and we will be seeing Gerard Butler playing the role of John Garrity. Here is the official synopsis as per Letterboxd,

Having found the safety of the Greenland bunker after the comet Clarke decimated the Earth, the Garrity family must now risk everything to embark on a perilous journey across the wasteland of Europe to find a new home.

The makers have now come up with a new release date, which is January 9, 2026.

Greenland 2: Migration is getting a new release date. Lionsgate will be releasing it theatrically on January 9, 2026. Mutiny, which was supposed to release on that very date, is now looking for a different window.

Greenland 2: Migration is directed by Ric Roman Waugh, while the script is written by Chris Sparling and Mitchell LaFortune. Gerard Butler is producing the film with Erica Lee, Basil Iwanyk, Alan Siegel, Brendon Boyea, John Zois, Ric Roman Waugh, and Sébastien Raybaud. The production banners include Thunder Road, CineMachine, STXfilms, Anton, and G-Base Film Production.

Greenland 2: Migration will follow the Garrity family, who have to leave the bunker in Greenland that they had inhabited in the first film. They will now have to find a new home. The first film, also directed by Waugh, focused on the family trying to survive as a comet is about to hit Earth.

It was earlier supposed to release theatrically, but plans were changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film was released through VOD and subsequently on Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max. It managed to mint $52.3 million, which propelled the makers to work on a sequel, which will have several actors reprising their roles.
