Oscar Isaac features in the newly released look into Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein adaptation, slated to release this fall in limited theaters before debuting on Netflix.
It shows Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, in three scenarios, as revealed in the film's official trailer. They reveal more about the egomaniac character, who created a monster out of nothing.
The first still shows Isaac wearing a white shirt and maroon gloves, engrossed in his work as he is about to chop off someone's feet. He appears to be in his lab, where he conducted his experiments, including the Creature he created, seemingly out of desperation.
The second still features Isaac in the middle of a freezing battleground. It shows Victor wearing a maroon scarf and a dark coat, angry, as he stands next to a pack of dead bodies, while a few other soldiers stand in the distance.
The third picture shows him holding a candle lamp in the middle of a dimly lit space, which looks like a basement covered in mold. He wears the same top as before, as he looks back, fearful of what's behind him.
There's another still that shows Mia Goth as Elizabeth Lavenza, who is supposed to marry Victor's younger brother. She is lost in thought, wearing a dress with shades of red and brown, along with a red hat.
Oscar Isaac spoke about playing a lead in Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein

Jacob Elordi has received a lot of praise for his performance as the monstrous creature in Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein. So, the fans of this Euphoria star are excited to see him as the creation of a scientific experiment from a man who decides to play God. Oscar Isaac plays this man, Victor, marking his first collaboration with the Mexican auteur.
When asked about Victor, the 46-year-old actor told Entertainment Weekly about his initial discussions with the director about this character. He said,
"When we first find [Victor], he is this ragged man at the end of the Arctic. He is terrified. He is running. You don't know if he's running away or running through something or what's going on.
He added,
"As Victor tells his tale, he begins with his father and his own creation. 'How was I created? How was this person created? And if I'm gonna tell you about this horrible secret that I have, I must tell you how it got there. And that's with my own father.'" So when Guillermo and I first met, that's what we mostly talked about. We didn't even talk about Frankenstein."
Netflix will release Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein in theaters for three weeks starting October 17, 2025. Later, it will premiere on the streamer.
