American sports commentator and former NFL player Michael Irvin opened up about his team, the Dallas Cowboys' debauchery during the early 1990s, in the recently released Netflix docuseries America's Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys. The 8-episode Netflix original docuseries, which is currently streaming on the platform, features not only Michael Irvin, but also several other former Dallas Cowboys players such as Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, Charles Haley, and Deion Sanders. It also features football coaches like Barry Switzer and Jimmy Johnson.

While many would agree that it was a wild time for the Dallas Cowboys in 1994, the 59-year-old NFL star and wide receiver Michael Irvin looks back at his team's debauchery, which took place in 'The White House,' a two-story building located near the Dallas Cowboys' Valley Ranch headquarters. The two-story residence mentioned by Michael Irvin in the Netflix docuseries was the ultimate den for all the Cowboys players, as they not only hung out there but also used the building for partying, doing drugs, and having s*x.

As per People, Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, who acted as the "president" of The White House in the docuseries, shed light on how they came up with the idea of their den and what went on inside the building. Irvin said:

"We was like, ‘Man, we spend a lot of money for these hotels, all of these women.’ So then we said, ‘Let’s do a house.’"

Barry Switzer, 87, who was the coach of the Dallas Cowboys from 1994 to 1997, explained in the Netflix docuseries the players' mindset when it came to extracurriculars. He added:

"Those guys live on the edge. [They’re] supposed to be adult men, married, most of ‘em. You know, really it was none of our business, they’re adults."

Michael Irwin goes ahead and talks about the setup of The White House. He added:

"We had five rooms, and it was like whatever you like, you commingle with your like. In that room, you may be smoking weed, this room, they may be doing X or coke, whatever. There was a group of girls in each room and you just kind of bounced from room to room."

Dallas Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones fired Jimmy Johnson, who was the team's previous coach, and appointed Barry Switzer as the new coach back in 1994. Switzer, who was quite different from Johnson, had his own method when it came to coaching. The 56-year-old Emmitt Smith, who was the Cowboys' running back, talks about Switzer in the fifth episode of the Netflix docuseries and says:

"Not knowing how Barry’s going to handle the situation left everybody kinda in limbo. Because we had the same pieces of the puzzle in place. All he had to do was be the manager of the team, and not mess the team up."

Besides Smith, former Cowboys safety James Washington, while talking about Switzer, says:

"A lot of guys liked him because now the guys felt like they had freedom. Barry came into that locker room, the dynamic, the accountability, the work ethic — that had changed."
