Halle Berry is now responding to criticism over the intimate video she previously shared of herself and her boyfriend, Van Hunt. The Monster’s Ball actress, in her recent appearance on Today with Jenna and Friends, stressed the fact that the day was for her, and she could celebrate it any way she wanted.
In the first video, shared on Mother’s Day, Halle Berry is seen saying that she was in Cannes, where she was serving as a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival, which was held from 13 to 24 May. A few hours later, Halle Berry posted another video with boyfriend Van Hunt, as the pair were seen under the covers in their bed.

Halle Berry, during her appearance on Today with Jenna and Friends on 4 June, said that there was a slew of criticism from people who questioned her decision to not spend her Mother’s Day with her children. She said:
"Women, other women, got in their feelings. Was it right for her to be in her bed talking about spinning with her man?’ Yes! And they were saying, ‘Should she be talking about that on Mother’s Day? Shouldn’t she be with her kids somewhere?’ ”
The Oscar-winning actress further added that, as a mother, the day was about her and she chose to spend it in her own special way. She said:
"First of all, it’s not Kid’s Day. It’s called Mother’s Day. Kid’s Day is every day of the year. That’s my day. And if I wanna be in bed and spin with my man, then that’s what I’m gonna do.”
Halle Berry and Van Hunt, who have been together for five years, met in 2020 and soon began dating. In the video uploaded on Mother’s Day, Halle Berry is seen saying:
"I showed y'all how my day started. How my Mother's Day started. And now, I'm not going to show you, but I'm going to tell you how my Mother's Day is gonna end,"

Halle Berry, who has two children—daughter Nahla, born in 2008, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, and son Maceo, who she shares with ex-husband Olivier Martinez, whom she divorced in 2016—further added during her conversation with host Jenna Bush Hager that everyone should have open conversations and not be afraid to show love for their loved ones. She said:
It’s the most natural thing that we do as women, as men, and for people to be offended by that, saying Instagram is a family channel, yeah, and we should be allowed to talk about this in our families. We have s*x. It’s the most natural thing we do. Men do it. Women do it.”
She further added:
"Yes, and it should be okay to celebrate that and not be criticized for talking about love. In a time like this, in a world like this today, I’m sorry, we should talk more about loving each other and not fighting. So whoever didn’t like it, so what."
Halle Berry, who had also posted a picture of her children on Mother’s Day, had earlier replied to several comments under her post calling her intimate video inappropriate.
