Robert Pattinson and Jennifer Lawrence, during a press conference at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival on May 18, revealed how parenthood has changed their life, while they discussed their new thriller, Die, My Love.
The two star together in the Lynne Ramsay-directed movie, which tells the story of a mother who struggles to maintain her sanity. The movie was initially released on May 17.
Lawrence, while talking about being a mother, said:
"Having children changes everythig. It changes your whole life. It's brutal and incredible."
Lawrence was five months pregnant with her second child when filming for Die, My Love began in 2024. She gave birth to her first child in 2022 and discussed her postpartum experience, noting that "its extremely isolating."
Pattinson, who is also a dad to his 1-year-old daughter with Suki Waterhouse, said:
"I think, in the most unexpected ways, having a baby gives you the biggest trove of energy and inspiration afterward. It's a different kind of energy,"
Lawrence also mentioned that having children made her a better actor, since her job "has a lot to do with emotion," and her children have changed her "creatively."
More about Robert Pattinson's kids

Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse welcomed their first child, in March 2024. This comes after Waterhouse announced that her and Pattinson were expecting during a November 2023 performance at the Corona Capital Festival. While speaking to the audience, Suki said,
"I'm extra sparkly today because I thought it might distract you from something else that's going on."
She then opened up her coat to reveal her baby bump. The couple didn't officially announce the birth of their daughter. However, Daily Mail spotted the two pushing a pink stroller while they were on a walk in Los Angeles in March, 2024.
Pattinson during a January 2025 interview with GQ revealed that fatherhood has helped him become more social. He revealed that he felt like a "hermit" before having a kid, but now enjoys hanging out with his neighbors since he visits the playground often.
"There's something so lovely about going to random person's house just because they have a kid around the same age and having, like, daytime hangouts. I can't actually believe it's happening to me, but like, having a barbecue on Sunday and saying like, 'You, uh...you watch the game?' I was like, this is dope. I love this."
Suki had also praised Robert Pattinson's dad skills during a September 2024 appearance on Today. Suki mentioned that Pattinson "really excels" at diaper changing.
