Candace Owens is voicing her support for veteran producer Harvey Weinstein, who was convicted of sexual harassment.

In the tell-all interview from prison, the defamed mogul maintained his innocence and refuted the notion that he was an abuser. Weinstein, who played a main role in the momentum of the #MeToo movement, started off the interview by claiming he was “wrongfully convicted."

Weinstein is currently in prison for having been found guilty of a criminal sexual act in the first degree and third-degree rape in 2020, and rape in 2022, Variety reported. However, per the outlet, his former conviction was recently overturned because the presiding judge took into account testimonies that were not previously included in the case.

Weinstein referenced this decision multiple times throughout the interview, seemingly as if to back up his claims that he was innocent. As for Candace Owens, she took to X to claim that he is allegedly taking the fall for someone else, though she failed to mention just who that is. She posted on X,

Harvey Weinstein swears he's innocent, says he was just a bad boss

As reported by Variety, in his interview with Candace Owens, Harvey Weinstein referred to his behavior as simply “mistakes" as he swore that he never did anything “illegal,”

“I hurt my family. I hurt my friends. I cheated on my wife. And that was a mistake, you know, a terrible mistake,” Weinstein said. “But I did not commit these crimes. I swear that before God, and the people watching now, and on my family.”

He blamed his philandering ways on the pressures of his job,

“Oh, I was not a good boss. I was tough and I was demanding, and I should have been better at it, but I wasn’t. I had a temper. You know, I just should have controlled myself better. And the pressures of that work was my excuse for the cheating.”

Owens then probed about Gwyneth Paltrow, one of Weinstein's accusers. In 2017, the actress claimed that shortly after she was cast in the 1996 film Emma, she was invited back to the producer's room, where he got handsy with her and suggested a massage. However, Harvey Weinstein rubbished the claim, saying he “definitely made a pass,” but he claimed he “didn’t touch her.”

“She thought the relationship was abusive. Anybody who was there, who witnessed that relationship with [Paltrow], it just turned into total friends,” Weinstein said. “There’s pictures of her hugging me when I was sick and in the hospital and didn’t think I was gonna make it in 1999. Gwyneth, at the Golden Globes, said, ‘Bomber, we miss you.’ She got up and made a speech about me. Nobody asked her to do that. In her Academy speech, she thanks me.”

Harvey Weinstein is presently on trial in New York on two counts of first-degree "criminal sexual act" and one count of third-degree rape.

The next segment of the interview between him and Owens premieres on YouTube this Tuesday, though the entire interview is currently available on the latter's paid subscription service.
