“He stays true to himself with class”—Fans react as Kai Cenat dismisses man at 2025 AMAs for using his daughter to meet him and promote Kanye West

Popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat was live streaming from the 2025 American Music Awards when a Kanye West fan approached him at the event to promote Kanye West.

During the event, the man can be seen approaching Cenat with his family, who was enjoying a break during the show. After the two men greet each other, the man motions for his young daughter to say hi to Kai, who proceeds to ask for a high-five instead. The man then asks Cenat about Kanye,

"Hey, where's Kanye?"

When Cenat responds with an awkward laugh, the man continues to say,

"We want to say we love Ye. We love Ye for being outspoken, regardless. 'Cause's it's America and I think it's a great thing to live in a free country, don't you, Kai?"

The camera zoomed into Kai Cenat before responding to the man and saying,

"So, you really hopped on my stream, knowing my influence, to come on here and say that?"

When the man continued talking about how he thinks that Kanye's "a great guy" and at the end of the day, "you all could have an extra dialogue with him," Kai Cenat cut him off and said,

"Here, this is what I'mma say. I think I wanna protect my energy. I'm an adult. I'mma politely ask you to get out of here, cuz. Please."

After the interaction went viral on the internet, netizens took to a repost by Hollywood Unlocked, approving Cenat's way of handling a Kanye fan.

What happened between Kai Cenat and Kanye West?

Kai Cenat and Kanye West's feud can be traced back to April, 2024, when Cenat reviewed some of Kanye's brand, Yeezy's clothing. Ye, while responding to the comments, called Cenat an "industry plant" and noted that he also didn't like Cenat taking his daughter, North West's, name.

Later, in January, Kai Cenat received a call from Ye's team, notifying him that West would text him and he should keep an eye out for the message. Ye did text Kai, and Kai in an update said,

"Oh my gosh. Kanye just texted me. Kanye said, 'Happy new year, family.' I'm not lying to you...The beef is over chat. The beef is over."

However, Cenat responded to Ye, and apparently the beef was squashed. In February 2025, the two met outside of the Grammys in Los Angeles and were planning to stream together before Ye called him "corny." The streaming was cancelled.
