American Basketball player, Elden Campbell's body was discovered by the police next to a jet ski along the beach around 8 p.m. local time, as per a report from TMZ. Campbell died on December 1 at 57, during what his family described to be a fishing tragedy in Pompano Beach.

The cause of death was confirmed as "due to drowning" by Thomas Steinkamp, the chief of investigative services for Broward County to People.

A person was sitting on the sand when he noticed someone emerging from the ocean and phoned the police, as per a 911 audio from Monday obtained by The Post. In the call, the man can be heard saying:

"It looks like a white casket. It looks like a human body on the floor - like, dead. I didn't get close to it. But I put on my camera and zoomed in, and I was zooming in and it looked like a dead person on the floor in a white casket."

Carey Todd, a spokesperson for the Broward County Sheriff's office told The Post on December 5, that investigators arrived on the scene shortly, and found Campbell dead "next to a jet ski." Todd revealed:

"The information about the casket was inaccurate. At this time, there is no foul play suspected, and the death investigation is ongoing."
