Holly Hagan has opened up about how her sister Darci Rose died at the age of 19 hours after she consumed drugs at the Warehouse Project in Manchester. The former Geordie Shore star spoke to the Daily Mail about the hours leading up to Rose's demise. The teenager reportedly succumbed to two cardiac arrests after she mixed crystal MDMA into her drink at the party in October. She was rushed to the Manchester Royal Infirmary but died within 48 hours. "We all went to bed that night and around 5am I heard a light knock on my door, and I thought my son had woken up," Holly Hagan told the Mail. "But I looked at my phone to see the time, and I had 130 missed calls. My heart dropped and you know when your whole body goes into panic. The first message I saw was in capital letters, saying 'we are with your sister, you need to get to Manchester Royal Infirmary right now, please call us back', and that was at 2am. My whole body was in fight mode; I sat on the toilet shaking." Holly Hagan recalls the circumstances surrounding her sister's demise: Read more Holly Hagan, who shares Alpha-Jax, 2, with husband Jacob Blyth, and is expecting her second one, recalled the doctors informing her that her sister had ingested drugs when she arrived at the hospital. She said that Darci had never taken the class A drug in a crystal form before, but had tried drugs in the past. "My one regret is not messaging her saying 'are you taking anything tonight? What are you taking? Please be careful'," Holly said. She also said that others may think Darci was "reckless" for ingesting the drug, but defended her by claiming she was 'always so sensible' and would only do it "at these kind of events." She also said that Rose was 'naïve' about the quantity of drugs she consumed that night. Back in November, Holly Hagan also took to TikTok to acknowledge her sister's demise and share an update on her life. 'I wasn't sure whether to share or not as honestly this is such a vulnerable time and I'm not really someone who sits and cries to the camera usually but this is the reality of where I'm at right now,' she said in the clip. 'It is and has been the toughest four weeks of our entire life. I actually just don't really know how to process this whole situation, and neither do my parents. I don't think anybody realises how much this affects everybody in their lives. The amount of people that's been affected by this is just absolutely mindblowing. Like, my world has stopped. Her parent's world has stopped. We feel, like, stuck and then the world keeps spinning.' Holly Hagan broke down into tears as she admitted at the time: 'I probably shouldn't have tried to do this video just before I was going to go out. Usually in the day I can take my mind off it and do other things, it does mean I can be in a different mode other than just sitting and letting myself think about it. But usually on a night that's obviously when it's really hard, really, really hard for everyone.' Holly Hagan also explained that she didn't know how to come back to her online presence after the demise of her sister, noting that she just didn't want to speak about it. 'But tight now I feel like I'm weighted by lead,' she admitted. 'It feels like I'm just so heavy, everything is feeling like it's ten times harder to do. don't want to make this some sort of grief account, I don't want to make every video depressing and talking about it because I don't feel ready to speak about everything yet, but one day I will. Right now it's just so fresh. You just never think that this is going to happen. Sorry guys, I did think I'd be able to hold it together, but clearly not. This whole situation has felt incredibly surreal, I've felt like I'm in a film as these things only happen in films or in soaps and are over-dramatised but to have to live through it, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.'Stay tuned to SoapCentral for more.
