Ed Kelce is reportedly "heartbroken" after the demise of his girlfriend, Maureen Maguire.

A source told People Magazine recently that Kelce, the father of NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce, is still in mourning following the death of Maguire. Per the outlet, she died on Friday, August 1, at the age of 74.

“Maureen wasn’t just his partner, she was his person,” a source told the outlet. “They were a team. They shared everything… games, concerts, travel, dogs, dinners with family. He’s feeling an enormous void.”

As of this writing, further details about Maureen's demise remain unclear, though Ed Kelce did share a tribute to her on his Facebook page on Saturday, Aug. 2, alongside a link to her obituary. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time, it states.

He also shared several photos of their time together, including one with Taylor Swift, Travis' girlfriend. In it, Ed, Maureen, and Swift can be seen clad in Kansas City Chiefs merch, with the singer clutching a card and what seems to be a friendship bracelet.

As reported by Us Weekly, in January 2024, Ed Kelce said in an interview that it was his girlfriend who informed him of how big of a sensation Swift was.

“I met Taylor at Travis’ house. When Travis has a lot of friends coming into town to the game, everyone meets at his house, although he’s not there because he’s sequestered with the team,” he said during an appearance on Audacy’s 92.3 The Fan radio show. “Everyone meets at the house, and they have a shuttle that comes [to] pick everyone up and take them to the game. At any given home game, you could end up with 20 people there.”

He continued,

“Taylor walks in with a security guy, and I look at her, and I say [to my girlfriend], ‘Oh my God, I know this kid, but I don’t know what her name is.’ Jeez, you know, like a real idiot.” Ed Kelce then recalled Maureen telling him, “You don’t know her? This is Taylor Swift, you idiot.”

Maguire's obituary states that she came to grow an interest in football in the later stages of her life, thanks to Ed:

'She also grew an unexpected love for football later in life, sharing many laughs and adventures with her beloved friend Ed Kelce and her loyal dog Butch,' the obituary read. 'Together, they traveled often and attended football games and concerts, and embraced every opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest.'

More details, like when and how Ed Kelce met Maureen, remain unclear, though the Daily Mail has reported that he split with Travis and Jason's mother after almost 25 years of marriage. However, they remain friends. As for Maureen, she leaves behind her kids from a previous marriage and her grandchildren.
