The FIFA World Cup 2026 countdown has started, and fans from all around the world are getting ready to buy tickets for what is expected to be the largest World Cup ever. Millions of football fans are expected to attend the event, which will include 48 teams, 104 matches and 16 host countries located around the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Here is all the information you need on the FIFA World Cup 2026's pricing, presale draws, and the ticketing procedure.

The FIFA World Cup 2026's ticket will be sold in phases

First Presale Phase: September 2025

The presale draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026 begins at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Only Visa cardholders are eligible for this, and they must have an active Visa debit, credit or prepaid card that is 3D Secure enabled.

To participate in this, fans must:

  1. Register for a FIFA ID at FIFA.com/tickets.
  2. Enter the presale drawing before the deadline on Friday, September 19, 2025.
  3. Wait for the randomized selection process to determine eligibility.

Those who are selected will then be notified via email beginning on September 29 and assigned a particular time window to buy tickets starting on October 1.

Second Phase: The Early Ticket Draw

The second stage, known as the Early Ticket Draw, is anticipated to start from October 27 to October 31, 2025, after the first presale. Fans will register and be chosen at random to earn purchasing slots, just like in phase one. Those who are selected will be able to purchase tickets from the middle of November until the beginning of December.

Third Phase: Random selection draw after the Group Draw

Following the official schedule announcement on December 5, 2025, following the final team draw, the third phase starts. Fans would now be able to apply for certain matches, such as those involving their national team or high-profile matches.

Ticket Prices

For the first time ever in World Cup History, FIFA has implemented dynamic pricing, which allows prices to change based on demand. For FIFA World Cup 2026 the group stage games will start at $60, and by the knockout matches, the prices increase gradually with each round and then finally, up to $6,730 for the final game at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

In contrast, tickets for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar ranged from $69 to $1,607 in USD equivalent, whilst those for the 1994 World Cup in the US were between $25 and $475.

Each fan can buy up to a maximum of four tickets per match and a total of 40 tickets for the whole tournament.

Additional Ticketing Options and Security Measures

For certain venues, hospitality tickets are already offered in addition to regular ticket sales. For fans seeking a posh matchday experience, these premium packages provide exclusive food, seating, and entertainment options.

FIFA will be introducing an official resale platform to prevent fraudulent reselling and enable supporters who are unable to attend to resell their tickets safely and lawfully. This shield fans from the unauthorized ticket sales that have marred precious tournaments.

They said that it will “safeguard fans against invalid or unauthorised resale and is available to fans subject to federal and local regulations.”

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be historic as it will be the first World Cup to be held in three different nations, with 48 teams instead of the traditional 32, making it the biggest edition ever, with 16 host cities where matches will take place, which include Los Angeles, Toronto, Mexico City, New York, Dallas, and Vancouver.

With increased capacity and a broader global audience, the FIFA World Cup 2026 is expected to surpass the 1994 U.S. edition, which continues to be the most attended World Cup in history.

Securing tickets will be tough, though fans may register, enter draws, and buy tickets in several ways.
