Bella Thorne recently shared that she proposed to her fiancé, Mark Emms, to marry her.
The former Disney child star, 27, took to her Instagram to share a string of photos of her asking Emms to marry her, two years after he first popped the big question himself.
"3 years ago we met, 1 year later he proposed, Now 1 year later so did I 🥴❤️," she captioned the photos.
In her post on Instagram, Bella Thorne can be seen down on one knee against a backdrop of candles, flowers, and heart-shaped balloons.
However, many netizens criticized her, saying that a woman should not be the one to propose. In response, Bella Thorne shared another photo of her husband-to-be on her Instagram stories, with the caption:
"The comments on my post are hilarious!!" She continued, "Totally split down the middle. Half of u are like let's not normalize proposing to your partner -- other half is like f*** yeah girl power this is the sweetest!!"
According to Us Weekly, Thorne met her future husband at Cara Delevingne’s birthday party in 2022 in Ibiza. Per The Independent, they began dating around August-September 2022. “It was love at first sight as the sun rose,” the actress told Vogue a year later.
