Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness were married for 27 long years before the couple announced their split in September 2024. Furness has finally filed for divorce in New York from Hugh Jackman, two years after the two split. As per a report by Daily Mail, Furness filed the complaint on May 23.

Furness' lawyer, Elena Karabatos, included a notice concerning continuation of health care coverage and proposed a qualified medical child support order, a New York State case registry form, a proposal judgment of divorce, the settlement, and a certificate of dissolution. Only a judge's sign-off is required to finalize the divorce.

The couple initially met in 1995 and went on to tie the knot in 1996, before adopting children, Oscar and Eva. Daily Mail reported that an insider noted that Furness has received a "handsome spousal support payment" and that there will be no "drama."

Earlier, during a September 2023 statement, which was shared with People, the couple, while announcing their separation, had said,

"We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate and pursue our individual growth."

After filing for divorce in New York, Deborah-Lee Furness, in an exclusive statement to the Daily Mail in an article published on May 28, highlighted that she's grateful for the time she had with her husband, Hugh Jackman.

"My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It's a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us."

She went on to add,

"This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage. I have gained much knowledge and wisdom through this experience. Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose."

Deborah noted that while experiences like divorce and separation,

"can hurt" in the long run, "returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values, and boundaries is liberation and freedom."

Insiders close to the couple had earlier revealed that there was potential for the split to get "messy" as the couple navigated to split their $250 million fortune, since they never drew up a prenup.
