Tom Cruise’s ex-wife and actress Katie Holmes has been dragged into the limelight for her recent social media activity. On July 8, Fox News published a report stating that the Dawson's Creek actress liked a post on Instagram that mentioned Cruise and Ana de Armas’s rumored relationship.
On May 1, the Daily Mail posted a carousel on Instagram sharing exclusive photos of the new rumored couple in town. The post mentioned:
“Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas confirmed their love affair is real as they flew into London together this week days before her 37th birthday.”
However, a user, @chinchlovies, took to the comment section of the post and wrote:
“Did anyone else notice that Katie Holmes liked the post?”
“Katie holmes liked this post,” another netizen (@diansellyanggraini) mentioned.

After almost six years of marriage, which took place on November 18, 2006, they legally separated in June 2012. According to InStyle, it took less than a fortnight to settle the separation seamlessly.
The former couple shares a daughter, Suri, born in 2006. Speaking to Vanity Fair about her baby at the time, she said:
“The moment the doctor handed me Suri, I was just ready. The feeling is indescribable. All I can say is the moment I looked in her eyes, I felt like ... Mom.”
Following their divorce, Holmes was granted the sole custody of Suri while Cruise had visitation rights. Reports mention that despite the condition, the Mission: Impossible actor rarely met his daughter.
Katie Holmes shares her biggest goal for Suri
Following the split from Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes moved to New York with Suri. Speaking to InStyle, she remembered the split, calling it an intense time. It put her in the centre of attention, which became challenging for her as she had a child. She said:
“We had some funny moments out and about in public. So many people I didn’t became my friends and helped us out and that’s what I love about the city.”
Reflecting on her bond with Suri, she said:
“I love her so much. My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into individuality. To make sure she is 100 per cent herself and strong and confident, and able and to know it.”
In August 2024, Suri went to college, and Katie Holmes became an empty-nester. She told Town&Country that she was proud of her daughter but would miss the close bond they shared. She added:
“It’s exciting to learn about yourself and I loved that time so it makes me happy to think about it like that.”
During a conversation with Glamour in 2023, Katie Holmes shared that it was important for her to protect her daughter as she was in the spotlight from a young age. She joked that seeing '90s fashion trends return made her feel old because she had already lived through that era, and her mother often said she should have kept her old clothes.
Holmes mentioned that she always hoped her daughter would be involved in her films in some way. For her, including loved ones in her projects came from her love for creating and the close, family-like bonds formed during work.
