How long have Stephen Fry and Elliott Spencer been married? Actor addresses age gap

Stephen Fry, 67, and Elliott Spencer, 38, have been married for more than a decade. The two tied the knot in January 2015, just days after announcing their engagement, and share a 30-year age gap.

While speaking to Rylan Clark on his new podcast, Rylan: How to Be in Love, Fry opened up about the success behind their marriage despite having a huge age gap.

"I can tell you how to have a succesful relationship with Elliott, but that's probably not very helpful. But I guess it's all the normal human virtues - some of which are forgotten virtues - but one of the most important human virtues, I think, isn't even really considered a virtues."

He went on to add,

"But it is one that changes the world. And it's not kindness, which obviously is important, but it's a subset of kindness, perhaps. And it's cheerfulness."

Fry went on to explain that when "you're in the presence of a cheerful person," it "makes everything better" since they are their "own sunshine."

Stephen Fry added that his husband, Spencer, had to learn to cope up with him being "extremely energetic and bouncy and chatty in the mornings," which Spencer is not.

"I had to find ways of just calming myself and he had to come up a little bit and not be quite so kind of, 'will you shut up Stephen!"

Elsewhere during Stephen Fry's appearance on the Rylan: How to Be in Love podcast, the actor addressed positive things that have come out of their massive age gap; one of them being learning things that he wouldn't have come across on his own,

"He teaches me things I just didn't know. He introduced me to Kendrick Lamar, which was a great thing to do because Kendrick Lamar I've decided is a great potential spirit, a really remarkable figure."

Stephen Fry also added that Spencer has "great affection for" WWE, which resulted in him also developing an interest in wrestling. Fry revealed that he has bought "a couple of tickets" for WrestleMania in Las Vegas.

The couple was initially rumored to have met in 2012 after they were introduced by mutual friends at a house party. While the two have kept their relationship low profile, the QI star shared an Instagram tribute on their 10th wedding anniversary.
