Actor Bruce Willis’ oldest daughter, Rumer Willis, has taken to Instagram to wish him on Father’s Day. In an emotional tribute to her father, Rumer spoke about her pain at not being able to communicate witbh Wilis in wake of his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis.

Bruce Willis is a father to five daughters. He and his first wife, Demi Moore, are parents to three daughters: 36-year-old Rumer Glenn, 33-year-old Scout LaRue, and 31-year-old Tallulah Belle. Willis is also a father to 13-year-old Mabel Ray and 11-year-old Evelyn Penn, both of whom he shares with his current wife, Emma Heming.

Bruce Willis’ eldest daughter, Rumer Willis was born in 1988, as per People Magazine. Rumer has followed her parents’ footsteps and is an actor. As a child, she appeared in many of her parents’ films such as Striptease, The Whole Nine Yards. As an adult, she appeared in Wild Cherry and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Rumer also appeared in Dancing With The Stars, winning the 20th season of the reality TV show, as per Today.

In 2023, Rumer gave birth to her own daughter, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis. Over the years, Rumer shares snapshots of life with her daughter on social media, even posting photographs of Bruce Willis sharing precious moments with his granddaughter.

Willis and Moore’s second daughter, Scout, was born in 1991. Today reported that Scout attended the prestigious Brown University. Scout is a musician who released her eponymous debut album in 2022, according to People Magazine. Recently, she performed one of her singles at a benefit for the Los Angeles wildfire relief.

Tallulah, Willis’ youngest daughter with Moore, was born in 1994. At the time, the family lived outside Hollywood at a ranch in Idaho. Later, when the family moved to Los Angeles, Tallulah found the transition difficult, sharing with Teen Vogue that the increased scrutiny of her appearance influenced her self-esteem. Speaking to the magazine, Tallulah said,

“I recall very specifically: I was in a New York hotel room when I was 13 (before social media was such a huge thing), looking at a photo of myself online. I broke down in tears as I started to read the comments. I thought, I am a hideous, disgusting-looking person.”

She shared that she took recourse to dr*gs as a way of coping with the pressure. Eventually, Tallulah went on the path to recovery when she entered a rehab centre, shared People Magazine.

Mabel and Evelyn, Bruce Willis’ daughters, whom he shares with Emma Heming, were born in 2012 and 2014, respectively. As per People Magazine, the family lives in Bedford Hills in New York. Hemming frequently shared snapshots of her daughters on social media, and documents the family as they share precious moments together while in New York City or at their home.

Bruce Willis received heartfelt tributes on Father’s Day

Bruce Willis’ family shared emotional messages to mark the occasion of Father’s Day on June 15. Rumer wrote about what all she would have liked to do with her father if he hadn’t been suffering from dementia. On Instagram, she posted a series of herself and Willis over the years, and wrote,

"Today is hard, I feel a deep ache in my chest to talk to you and tell you everything I’m doing and what’s going on in my life. To hug you and ask you about life and your stories and struggles and successes. I wish I asked you more questions while you could still tell me about it all.”

While recognizing that Willis wouldn’t “want me to be sad today,” she expressed that she was still grateful for the time she had with him.

Willis’ wife, Emma, posted an image of him with their daughter, and wrote,

“Happy Father’s Day to all the dads living with disability or disease, showing up in the ways they can and to the children who show up for them. What Bruce teaches our girls goes far beyond words.”

Emma did acknowledge it was a sad day. She added,

"But to be fair to myself, these symbolic days stir up a lot.I’m profoundly sad today. I wish, with every cell in my body, that things could be different for him and lighter for our family.”

Despite the difficult period that Bruce Willis’ family is going through, Emma wrote that she is inspired to carry on and “celebrate the badass dads.”
