Eva Longoria's motherhood journey
Longoria and José Antonio "Pepe" Bastón got married in 2016 and announced they were expecting a baby boy in December 2017. Four months after he was born, Eva Longoria shared the following message on Instagram:
"From the moment he was placed in my arms, I knew no love like this before.”
It became clear from the onset of motherhood that Eva Longoria would be a very hands-on parent:
"He is with me all of the time! If you follow me on Instagram, you will see that he is on set with me, that he's in meetings with me."
During a Good Morning America appearance in March, Eva Longoria was asked by the panel if Santi had begun to watch any of her work, with the focus being on 2019’s Dora and the Lost City of Gold. Longoria lightheartedly admitted that it may have caused some confusion at home:
“He saw Dora the Explorer and he was very confused that I was Dora's mom. And, he was like, 'Wait you’re her mom?’ And I go, 'Well,' and he's like, 'Well where is she? Why doesn't she live with us?' "
Eva Longoria and her husband José Bastón have been living between Spain and Mexico for the past few years. The Desperate Housewife alum spoke earlier in the year to PEOPLE about how enriching the environment is for her baby boy.
“I think the easiest way to get to know a culture is through food, and I love food. So I think for me, my lifestyle of living is being a citizen of the world, and also showing my son the world. I think he's so smart and bright.”
She continued:
“I'm going to Paris. He goes, ‘Bring me back some macarons,’ He knows that comes from Paris. Or I'll say, ‘We're going to go to Spain,’ and he's like, ‘Oh my God, are we going to have paella?’ So it's really sweet to see him also growing up with this appreciation of worldly cultures.”
Raising Santiago has seemingly been a treat for Longoria, who last appeared on the big screen in Disney’s Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, which was released in March.
