Ioan Gruffudd added a new chapter to his family story, with him becoming a father to three children. Gruffudd and his wife, Bianca Wallace, celebrated the arrival of their baby girl. The pair shared the news with followers on November 27, posting jointly on Instagram to announce the birth of their daughter, Mila Mae.
“November was a biggie… 💝,” they wrote, explaining that Mila Mae had been born on November 2, a full month before her expected December 2 due date. The caption continued with,
“Bubba Bear and Rocky: Absolutely smitten. Daddy & Mummy: Completely and totally in love with our tiny little angel,”
before closing on a warm note:
“Extremely grateful this thanksgiving.”
While Mila Mae is the first child for Ioan Gruffudd and Bianca Wallace as a couple, the actor already has two older daughters, Ella and Elsie, from his marriage to Alice Evans. As Us Weekly reported on June 15, 2025, Ioan Gruffudd and Evans wed in 2007, welcomed Ella in September 2009, and later had Elsie in September 2023.
Alice Evans publicly claimed Ioan Gruffudd intended to separate before tweets vanished:

Us Weekly reported on January 26, 2021, that Alice Evans said Ioan Gruffudd told her he wanted the two to separate after 13 years of marriage. She shared the claim in a tweet at the time:
“Sad news. My beloved husband/soulmate of 20 years, Ioan Gruffudd, has announced he is to leave his family, starting next week. Me and our young daughters girls [sic] are very confused and sad. We haven’t been given a reason except that he ‘no longer loves me’. I’m so sorry.”
The message was removed hours later. In another post, which was also deleted, Evans alleged that the 'Forever' actor had taken down the tweets “from my account.” She added in a follow-up,
“When I am being gaslit and mentally tortured then hell yes I will wash my linen in public.”
Evans continued replying to fans that day, saying she had faced “six months of harassment,” and writing,
“I cannot live anymore like this.”
Later, the couple gave Us Weekly a joint statement:
“As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for our family and we remain committed to our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy.”
Ella Gruffudd filed a restraining order against Ioan and Bianca, Days before their outing:

Us Weekly reported on June 4, 2023, that Ioan Gruffudd had been photographed smiling while out with girlfriend Bianca Wallace, only days after his then-13-year-old daughter, Ella, filed a restraining order against both of them. Court documents obtained by the outlet showed that Ella filed the case on May 31 in the Los Angeles Superior Court under “domestic violence prevention.” She also requested civil harassment protection from Wallace, 29.
According to the Daily Mail, the restraining order request followed an incident at Gruffudd and Wallace’s Los Angeles home the previous week, during a visit with Ella and her younger sister, Elsie. Gruffudd and his ex-wife, Alice Evans, had continued to face a series of legal disputes after their separation. Meanwhile, in the years that followed, Gruffudd spoke warmly of Wallace, publicly thanking her for making him “smile again” when the couple confirmed their relationship via Instagram in October 2021.
Wallace had also voiced her gratitude for Gruffudd’s support as she managed her multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Speaking to the Daily Mail at an MS fundraiser in May 2022, she said,
“Look, it’s not an easy illness. I’m more proud of the partners. I feel more sorry to the partners of people with MS because for us you have to face it, you genuinely don’t know what it’s going to be like. But when you’ve got an amazing support system, everything’s different, everything changes. I feel very lucky to be with someone so supportive. It’s amazing, I haven’t had this before. To have someone who is understanding is incredible.”
Ioan Gruffudd reflects on his early career and the struggle of working away from his children:

A Backstage interview published on December 16, 2020, shed light on Ioan Gruffudd’s reflections on his career and his life as a parent. The 'Fantastic Four' actor discussed what television had taught him and how he handled the balance between working long-distance and raising children. When asked what he wished he’d known before entering the industry, he pointed to his early start in acting.
“Acting has been part of my life and upbringing and my education, because I started at the age of 11. I was on a soap opera back in the U.K. and I was a child actor, so it’s part of my makeup and part and parcel of my being. Plus, I didn’t know much when I was 11 anyway!”
Gruffudd said he had learned to accept the shifting nature of the profession.
“But now I know you have to be open to your life being fluid—that nomadic lifestyle,”
He said, adding that being a father had reframed that journey.
“I’ve always enjoyed it, but now I’m learning something new about life as an actor being a parent. I have daughters in L.A. while I’m shooting this show in New York, so I’m at that juncture of having to decide whether or not to bring them on that journey,” he shared.
As he navigates new chapters on and off screen, Gruffudd remains candid about the fluid, often nomadic life that has shaped him.
